IKEA Korea to launch 2017 IKEA Catalog “Share Delicious Times Together”

IKEA Korea recommends various home furnishing ideas for happy moments of dining together with people
IKEA particularly focused on today’s meaning of meals changed to having a great time with family or friends. Seeing cooking and eating as crucial parts of life at home, the 2017 IKEA catalog suggests that in and around the kitchen are places for the entire family to come together and share fun, rather than simply for a housewife to prepare meals as part of solutions to create ‘a better everyday life’.
IKEA has been putting efforts towards understanding the needs of consumers with different lifestyles and reflecting those needs in product development. This year’s new IKEA catalog, especially, features 13 stories of homes around the world for the first time ever. The purpose is to add a warm touch to the catalog and provide home furnishing inspirations to Korean consumers.
“Since it is becoming difficult to find time for coming together and eating a meal with family at home, IKEA wishes to encourage sharing delicious and happy moments with the precious people in your life through new IKEA products and solutions. With the launch of the 2017 Catalog, IKEA Korea will hold various campaigns that can add the value of spending time together to food and in and around the kitchen and dining areas,” says André Schmidtgall, Country Retail Manager at IKEA Korea.
Meanwhile, the 2017 IKEA Catalog worldwide will be printed on 211,000,000 FSC-certified paper , translated into 34 languages including Korean and distributed in 48 countries.
In addition to the printed catalog, IKEA is working on strengthening the digital version of its catalog. This year’s IKEA Catalog app allows one to virtually try out IKEA products in his/her own home with an AR (augmented reality) feature. Also, it offers ‘moving and interactive content’, such as co-workers sharing ideas. The IKEA Catalog app is available for not only smartphones, but also tablets, desktop PCs, and laptops and it can be shared on social media. For more information, images and video clips can be found on the homepage of the IKEA Korea website (www.IKEA.kr).
The 2017 IKEA Catalog can be checked out in advance at an event to be held from September 27 at Yeongdeungpo Times Square, which will be run as the first part of the new campaign.
The digital version can be downloaded from the IKEA Korea website (www.IKEA.kr) from September 29 and the print version will be available at the IKEA Gwangmyeong Store starting October 17.
