Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea announced that it will host ‘IKEA DongBusan Job Fair’ on Friday, September 20 at Gijang-gun Office in Busan to present information on career opportunities at IKEA DongBusan which will open in the first quarter of 2020.

IKEA DongBusan will be the first IKEA store to open outside of Seoul/Gyeonggi area, following IKEA Giheung opening later this year, in addition to IKEA Gwangmyeong and Goyang currently in operation. With total size of 91,506m², IKEA DongBusan will cover one basement floor and four floors above ground including parking space. Scheduled to open within the first quarter of next year, IKEA DongBusan plans to create nearly 500 jobs in total.

The IKEA DongBusan Job Fair will run from 10am to 8pm on September 20, during which IKEA Korea co-workers in Sales, IKEA Food, Customer Relations, and Operational Support will meet with candidates and offer detailed information about the professional responsibilities in their respective roles and the overall application process, while sharing their own experience of working at IKEA Korea. There will also be introductory sessions for the candidates to learn more about IKEA, its culture and HR idea.

Details of available positions at IKEA DongBusan will be provided on the IKEA Korea website (www.IKEA.kr/jobs), where online applications will be accepted until September 30. At the job fair, IKEA co-workers will assist candidates who wish submit their online applications onsite. Following a review of the applications and interview process, the new co-workers at IKEA DongBusan will start their roles in waves, starting November.

The available positions at IKEA DongBusan include full-time co-workers, as well as part-time co-workers with flexible working hours of five different opportunities: 16, 20, 25, 28, 32 working hours per week. IKEA aims to attract and provide meaningful opportunities for women who had to leave work due to childbirth and education for children, retirees, as well as students who wish to juggle work and study at the same time. Regardless of contractual hours, IKEA Korea provides the same working conditions, same entry salary, and the same benefits package that includes insurance, as well as equal growth and development opportunities.
