IKEA launches various wireless charging products including wireless charging furniture

[Seoul – April 25] Home furnishing company IKEA Korea has launched wireless charging collections that charge smartphones by simply placing them on the furniture and wireless chargers.

The newly-released wireless charging products of IKEA are the SELJE Bedside table, NORDLI Bedside table, VARV Floor lamp, VARV Table lamp, RIGGAD work lamp and more. The wireless charging pads that are embedded inside allow smartphones to charge by simply placing the phone on the plus sign.

IKEA has also launched the NORDMÄRKE Single and Triple pad for wireless charging in different areas of the house as well as the the JYSSEN Wireless charger which allows consumers to install a charging spot in the furniture of their choice. All wireless chargers also come with a USB port, making it possible to charge additional devices.

All IKEA wireless charges are based on the Wireless Power Consortium global standard ’Qi’ and all devices that support Qi are compatible. In the case of smartphones that do not support Qi, VITAHULT Wireless charging phone covers can be purchased at IKEA.

Björn Block, IKEA Range Manager for Lighting and Wireless Charging, says, ”IKEA’s wireless chargers make smartphone charging easy, fun and convenient. IKEA wireless chargers enable convenient charging throughout the home, while at the same time making homes more beautiful by minimizing the use of cables.”

IKEA had launched wireless charging home furnishing collections last year in Europe and North America regions and provides wireless charging in lightings and bedside tables so that smartphones can be conveniently charged in daily life.

Meanwhile, IKEA’s wireless charging collection was selected as one of the finalists at the SXSW 2016 Interactive Innovation Awards while the IKEA RIGGAD Work lamp was also announced as the winner of ‘iF Design Award’ for its outstanding achievements in design.
