Korea selected as a pilot country with the first IKEA Live streaming on December 15

[Seoul – December 14] Home furnishing retailer IKEA Korea will launch ‘IKEA Live’, a live commerce solution, to offer a more accessible and convenient home furnishing for the many people during the untact era.

IKEA Live, which will be streamed for the first time in Korea on December 15, is a new global project that will be piloted in Korea and the United States to offer more dynamic and inspiring home solutions through diverse touchpoints, in response to the rapidly changing customer needs and trends amid COVID-19.

IKEA Live will be streamed on IKEA Korea official online store (www.IKEA.kr) every Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 PM, starting December 15, 2020. In IKEA Live, IKEA Korea’s home furnishing experts will introduce detailed functions of various IKEA home furnishing products in real time and provide home furnishing tips that can be used in everyday life. Customers can directly communicate with IKEA through real-time chat, ask questions and even make purchases directly through the online store.

“In line with the new untact trend, IKEA Live aims to provide home furnishing inspirations in a more fun and dynamic way by actively interacting and engaging with our customers,” said Horacio Trujillo, Country Home Furnishing & Retail Design Manager at IKEA Korea. “We will continue our efforts to meet more of the many Koreans through diverse touchpoints and offer more convenient, accessible and affordable home furnishing products and solutions.“

More information about IKEA Live can be found on IKEA Live webpage (IKEA.kr/IKEALive) on IKEA Korea official online store.

About IKEA Korea

IKEA Korea, owned and operated by the INGKA Group under franchise agreements with the Inter IKEA Systems B.V., entered the Korean market in 2014 with the opening of IKEA Gwangmyeong. Since then, IKEA Korea has opened three additional stores—IKEA Goyang, Giheung and DongBusan—as well as its e-commerce channel. Based on the IKEA vision ‘to create a better everyday life for the many people’, IKEA aims to enable and inspire the many people to love their homes through home furnishing, and is accelerating its steps to create a new IKEA that is more affordable, convenient and people and planet positive. Before each store opening, IKEA conducts a wide range of research and home visits to understand people’s life at home in each respective area. As a humanistic company, IKEA also aims to become a great place to work for its co-workers while creating a positive impact in the local community.
