IKEA Korea holds Midsommar Summer Sale

Offering up to 70% discount on 600 products from June 17 to July 6
Midsommar is the largest summer festival in Sweden held on the longest day of the year in the middle of June. In Sweden, where winters are long and summers are short, Swedes celebrate Midsommar with family, friends, and neighbors, enjoying traditional food, music, and dancing. As IKEA’s roots trace back to Sweden, IKEA Korea has been hosting annual events for Midsommar to invite Korean customers to experience Swedish culture and traditions.
This year, the Midsommar Summer Sale will be held from June 17 to July 6 for IKEA Family members at all IKEA Korea touchpoints (IKEA Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Giheung, DongBusan, Planning Studios, and IKEA Lab) and the IKEA Korea official online store. IKEA Korea will provide a discount of up to 70% on around 600 products for the many people to enjoy a more pleasant and comfortable summer at home amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The featured products for the sale are ▲ GRÖNLID sofa with deep-seated comfort, ▲ LERBERG shelf unit with a clean design and plenty of storage space, ▲ MALFORS foam mattress that gives all-over support and a restful sleep, and various other home furnishing products. Textiles, bedding, and kitchenware to help create a lively atmosphere at home have also been included.
In addition, a party to commemorate Midsommar will be held for IKEA Family members at IKEA Lab, a pop-up focusing on sustainability, for three days from June 25 to June 27. A large photo wall and pole decorated with flowers will be prepared, and visitors will have a chance to make flower wreaths and enjoy the Swedish fishing game ‘Fiskdamm.’ Visitors can also take part in Instagram hashtag events by uploading photos of the Midsommar Party with hashtags (#IKEA#미드솜마르파티) for a chance to win an IKEA gift card.
“As many people are expected to spend more time at home this summer, we have prepared this promotion to inspire the many to create a more comfortable and happier life at home with a wide range of affordable home furnishings,” said Nicolas Johnsson, Country Commercial Manager at IKEA Korea. “We hope the Midsommar Summer Sale and events will be an exciting opportunity for our customers to experience Swedish culture and enjoy a pleasant summer.”
