IKEA is recalling METALLISK espresso maker for hob 0.4 l with the stainless steel safety valve

IKEA urges all customers who own METALLISK espresso maker for hob 0.4 l with the stainless steel safety valve, date stamps between 2040 and 2204 (yyww), to stop using it and to contact IKEA for a full refund.  

Our customer’s and product safety is a top priority for IKEA. All IKEA products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation. This is a global preemptive measure to respond to possible risks based on investigation reports that there is a risk of bursting while using the product. It is identified that the possibility has increased after the material and structure of the safety valve installed on the product has been changed. Only products equipped with stainless steel safety valve (silver/gray color) are subject to recall. No other safety valve units are affected by this recall. 

Product production date is stamped at the bottom of the product such as double-digit year and week. (Represented as 2040, 2204, etc.) It can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
