On the underside of the candle there is a button with three positions – OFF, 6H and a hand symbol.
Wave your hand above the candle to turn it on and off.
Setting the button to 6H activates the timer - the candle switches on at the same time every day and switches off automatically after 6 hours.
Setting the button to the hand symbol activates the motion sensor. Then you can turn the candle on and off with a hand movement. If you forget about the candle, it will turn off automatically after 6 hours.
If you choose rechargeable batteries for the candle, you can easily charge them via the micro-USB port located on the underside of the candle. Cable is sold separately.
A safe alternative for homes with children or pets since the block candle can be used as decorative lighting anywhere without the risk of fire.
The LED candle gives a cosy, flickering light that resembles a real candle flame.
The LED light source consumes up to 85% less energy and lasts 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
Only use batteries that are intended for the product. Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types.
IKEA recommend LADDA rechargeable batteries.

Fun and functional!ManidipaThese are very pretty when lit up — though my 12yo feels a flatter rim is actually more natural and these try a tad too hard (though not as "cartoonish" as the more sloped design).
It took as a bit of investigation to figure out the different modes.
I like the colour. My youngster (yes, that same 12yo!) is delighted with the magical motion sensor. And I like being able to set them to the timer as well. Works well as a nightlight or as a light in a niche that gets dark but is not frequented enough to keep lights on all the time. I'm also loving the idea of them around the bathtub for a wind-down soak.
The one downside is if you have a ceiling fan, you might find that flicks the motion sensor on and off repeatedly — one of ours was responding to the shadow of the blade even while shielded under a shelf!
