Don't botherAnonymous reviewerIgnore the one positive review of this console table - this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with Ikea flatpack and I'd like to think I'm pretty good at putting ikea pieces together, having done it quite a bit over the years. This is a modular piece meaning that it's made up of various existing cabinets cobbled together to make this unit. This also means the instructions are confusing and you are also left with a lot of extra screws etc that aren't needed which feels wasteful. I've given it an extra star as it does look good when finally put together but this took us 4 days and included a trip back to Ikea to replace damaged items from the set. If you want to really test your relationship, buy this piece and try to put it together. If you don't, save yourself the hassle and just pay a little extra to get something similar from another site that doesn't involve flat pack.2

Assembly was straightforward, everything fitted together well and the cupboard is solid, looks good, doors and drawers working beautifully. The hinges are standard cupboard hinges as used on most kitchen cupboards and wardrobes these days. Well up to taking the weight of the doors. The top panel is a single piece that fits right across the top of the three cupboards, no airbrushing on the photos. Nothing left to say aprt from we are really happy with it and glad we didn't listen to those bad reviews. 5

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
