What is IKEAs return policy?

Your satisfaction with your IKEA purchase is important to us. If you are not completely happy or simply changed your mind, you can return your products within 365 days. IKEA will provide a full refund for items returned with proof of purchase during this period.

You can only return products bought from IKEA UK stores, via remote shopping or from the IKEA UK online website. You can also return a product if it has been opened or assembled. IKEA does not require the original packaging. If you want to exchange an item, you need to return it first and then make a new purchase.
You will be able to start your return by logging into My Purchases. Here you will also be able to track the status of the item(s) being returned. All you will need is your order number, postcode, and the email address used to place the order.
You can return or exchange all IKEA products. Food or drink, perishable product (cut flowers or plants), or custom-made product(s) may be returned in their original packaging, refunded as a voucher only.  A refund may be refused, or the value of the refund reduced, if the product(s) are not able to be sold at full retail value to which the exclusions in regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, apply.  IKEA will give you a full refund after an assessment has been conducted and IKEA is reasonably satisfied that the products are returned to IKEA in re-sellable condition. You also cannot make any modifications to the product. Any modifications you do to a product, such as drilling holes, painting or removing parts during use, will void the warranty, as it no longer functions the way it was designed and may have compromised the integrity of the product's structure. If you are returning a faulty item (that is not a major repair) that was not damaged by you, IKEA will either repair the item (at no cost to you) or offer you a refund.
If you are looking to return a mattress, we can provide you with an exchange or a refund. For more information, refer to What is the IKEA Return policy for mattresses?
Please see  Our IKEA refund policy for full terms and conditions regarding IKEA returns.
