The shelf unit is easy to fix in place or remove as needed since it has screw mounts.
The screw mounts have a soft surface that protects the top of the table from scratches and pressure marks.

Game changer for clearing desk space!ImshunThis little shelving unit is deceptively simple looking, but it massively solved my messy desk problem! It can hold a lot of small items like hand cream, pen holders, tools, decorative items, mints, etc, that I used to have sitting on my desk. Now I have so much space freed up that I can easily use the desk surface for crafting, cutting larger pieces of paper and fabric, etc! Yes, it was tricky to put together. I used the small cardboard pieces used in the package to hold up the loose pieces to align the screw holes, then it was much easier.

Terrible constructionBrandiI have put together a lot of IKEA furniture and accessories in my day, and this was by far the worst one to put together. You have to hold a piece inside a bracket while screwing in a piece outside of the bracket. The pictures in the instructions are very unclear. Then putting the shelves on is a whole other ordeal. It’s together, but I’m not even sure I’m keeping it. I hope it works well and stays together after all of that…

Screws aren't flushHayleyBought this product in 2023 and the screws aren't flush therefore, the shelves wiggle. Aside from that, I like the concept of this desktop shelf - it's convenient and a space saver.
Doesn't fit my ikea deskAmandaBought this to use with the Lagkapten(?) desk top. Unfortunately the top is too thick and I can't clamp it on because of this. I wrongfully assumed it'd fit any ikea desktop. Too bad because it's a great idea and the storage is much needed. Maybe the next rendition of this can be more accommodating to different desk thicknesses.

Versatile double shelf that attaches to desk or tableHarrietThis double metal shelf can be attached to a table or desk. But you have to measure the thickness of the table or desk and the amount of overhang or it might not fit. Although I had bought it for my desk, I ended up placing it on my art table.
I liked the height of the shelves and the fact that they had sides so items didn't fall out. I am using it to stores plastic bottles of paint, but they can be used for almost anything from craft supplies to office items.
I did find it a bit clumsy to put together. You really have to hold it carefully to put on the "legs" since you're joining two metal pieces, with one inside the other. Similarly, it was a bit of a balancing act to attach the two shelves to the legs - trying to line up the screw holes took time and dexterity.
In the end, I was pleased with the assembled product. I actually bought a second one to hold more art supplies.

A handy addition to storageLucyA handy addition to storage shelving for holding smaller items. It is sturdy once assembled and I like that you can adjust how the shelves sit. My only issue was that it was hard to put together. The screws would not go in easily and compared to other Ikea products, it was a bit tricky.
