So disappointed with the poor quality of the fabricAdrianaWe are very disappointed with the quality of our Uppland sofa covers, which we purchased only one year ago. The fabric Is extremely poor quality, with a plastic scratchiness, and most significantly, it has pilled in many places already. My husband and I have been loyal Ikea customers for over 20 years and have loved all our items over the years. When we bought our new house and needed a sofa for our family, we immediately went to Ikea. This has been the worst quality fabric we've ever purchased. It should not look this badly worn after barely one year.1
Excellent.LisaEasy to assemble and looks great. It makes me happy every time I curl up to read a book or watch TV. I choose the grey but may purchase an extra set of slipcovers to change the look of my space. Yes, it is firm but still incredibly comfortable. Would buy again and recommend.5
Love this furniture !!!!!DebbieIkea has really upped their game with this line of furniture. It was very easy to put together; it took me about 40 minutes to assemble it on my own.
Very solid couch. The covers are great. Very thick and easily machine washed. I purchased the white covers which look stunning.5
So Far S GoodAnonymous reviewerBought this couch 3 months and I love the way it looks in the living room. It's very inviting. Still not quite as comfortable as I had hoped but waiting for the cushions to settle in. Its just me and a fat cat so it may take a while. Are the other slip covers available to swap? I didn't originally notice the stiped one and I'd love just the covers.4
Disappointing Experience with the Uppland Sectional and Ikea Team!SandraWe had an Ektorp sofa for 13 years (love the slipcovers and design) so moved to the Uppland sofa and sectional in the last three years. One replacement of the Uppland sofa and sectional since the purchase and now the sectional is damaged again at the hardwood joint between the two pieces, and the team at Ikea report there are no issues with the Uppland so it must be abuse of the product. Hence, my request for a replacement has been denied because of too many returns. I don't have young kids jumping on the couch and my dog weighs 14 lb. My husband doesn't understand
why I remain loyal to Ikea and I'm feeling very disatisfied and judged as well. I'm not expecting any further action and most people will question why I persist in buying anything from Ikea. But there are many positive reviews of the Uppland which led to my purchase so want people to be aware of my experience. So sad to experience the end of my relationship with Ikea.1
The cover stains easily.TimWe have had this sofa about 2 months and purchased white cover, 2 adults no kids. The cover stains instantly, as soon as something dirty touches it and cannot be cleaned on sofa. Terrible material for marks, hopefully it can wash out but really doubt it.4
Delivered and DoneDeniseWe bought this online after seeing it in the store. It was all delivered really quickly and in a few different boxes and we assembled it easily ourselves. I love that the covers are removable and washable. We washed them when coffee was spilled, and it went right back on the cushion no problem.
Since it is a cover on the couch I love that nothing can "fall down" the sides and it makes it easier to clean up any crumbs that get under the seats.
I would totally recommend this to friends!5
Very Disappointed Anonymous reviewerAfter having Ektorp sofas for year and loving them, we somewhat hesitantly purchased the Uppland sectional upon finding out the Ektorp was discontinued. Assembly was easy, and it was ok comfort-wise. However, we’ve only had the sectional a few months (and unfortunately purchased it when the price was much higher), and one of the arms is already broken. My son was leaning on it while watching tv, and it broke. It doesn’t appear to be repairable, as the actual particle board is broken. Our Ektorp sofas lasted several years, through three young kids and their exuberance, and were still going strong when we sold them to move. We’re very disappointed in the Uppland, it was quite a waste of money! 1
