Great Unit, straight forward to put togetherRizwanI bought two of these units and didn't find the setup too challenging. You need to have patience and follow and instructions and it will all fit together. At times I had the issue of the holes not aligning so I just flipped the piece around and it worked. Make sure to put in the screws 80% of the way then fully tighten when all the screws are in.
Excellent toy storageAmandaI have assembled five of these. Unless Ikea has changed them in the last 2 years, they are fine to assemble. It is much easier with two people, as it says in the instructions, just because it's better if you have a person to hold pieces up while you screw together. It is very tricky to put together independently, but I've done 5 of them on my own despite the difficulty. The holes do line up if the pièces are put together exactly. But yes, it is frustrating the first time and more so if you're trying to hold it by yourself, and screw parts. I would definitely recommend this storage line because I love the finished product. It holds so much and makes it a snap to separate and organize toys. Looks nice when assembled and holds up well to wear and tear. Can change colours of bins for different rooms. I bought the pine ones. We've had some for 6 years and some for 2, all still look new.
Easy to buildJamieDespite the copious amounts of reviews that said this was difficult to build, mine was very easy and I had no troubles. So they’ve either fixed the problem, or I got lucky with the 2 units I purchased.
I love the finished pine, it’s such a pretty look. These are the perfect easy unit for my children’s room!
For the price…KaiteeWe’ve had some of these in the past and they were wonderful. The new ones are not quite as great. You can tell the quality sadly has sloped. However, for the price point and that it is more durable than some of the Walmart units… its functionality is well thought out. This is definitely something worth still purchasing. It will be hard to put together as a traditional IKEA item, and it will not be phenomenal quality… but it’s still a good choice for us regardless of the rest. I wish they would have kept the quality and just raised the price more personally.
Bad Quality BriTook my chances even with the reviews, and I’m definitely disappointed like others have been. Holes don’t lineup, wood crack immediately when you’re putting the screws in, and there’s multiple chunks missing from the wood right out of the box.. I don’t live close to an IKEA. I’m stuck with this crap. The idea is cool for this toy box, but the quality just isn’t there.
Read the reviews it's awfulKellieI should have taken heed and not purchased this product. The holes do not line up and the center pieces do line up either. I tried for far too long to make this work but it's very badly made. Its like an infuriating puzzle to solve. I'll be returning this product.
Pretty butDanikaThose are pretty but they are a pain in the butt to build!! We had to use wood glue because the side was always falling and some holes where just not fitting together so it made it impossible to install some of the screws I’ll need to go and buy wood screws to make sure that all of the spot that should have screws have some.
A bit tricky to assemble for the first piece, then a breezeMagdaleneI also initially thought the storage unit did not fit properly, but it does fit! i had to flip the bottom piece the other way and it fit no problem. I was ready to return but no it was me. The instruction manual should be more clear and maybe they should label top/bottom for some of the pieces.
Extremely Frustrated by the Assembly ProcessJessicaI’ve purchased and assembled many IKEA products over the years and have generally had good experiences—but this was by far the worst piece of furniture I’ve ever had to put together. The parts didn’t line up properly, and the overall assembly process was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
Initially, I thought maybe I just got a defective unit. But I had purchased two of these, and unfortunately, the second one was just as difficult to assemble—so clearly this is a design or manufacturing issue and not a one-off problem.
It’s a real shame because the product itself has a lot of potential in terms of functionality and design. But the assembly experience was so poor that I honestly can’t recommend it. I hope IKEA takes a closer look at this item and makes improvements.
