Poor mechanical designNickThis is a poorly-designed example of a “balanced-arm” lamp or “spring-balanced” lamp. In some parts of its range of motion, the weight of the lamp overcomes the springs and the lamp falls into a position away from the desired one. In other parts of its range of motion, the springs overcome the weight and the lamp springs up away from the desired position. Also, because the arm does not use a parallelogram linkage, the lamp head changes orientation as you move the arm. Balanced-arm lamps have been around since the 1930s, so it is surprising this one has been designed poorly. I suspect keeping the cost down and avoiding infringing on patented designs played a role.2
IT DOESN'T HOLD THE ANGLE AND KEEP FALLINGJayde JiyoonI used to love this lamp and bought another one but this time it keeps falling whenever I adjust its angle, it seems like qualith of the product dropped.1
PLEASE, PLEASE move the switch back to the topArtakPlease move the swich back to the top.... the days of hot incandescent lamps are long gone but it seems that your engineers are still fighting an enemy that no longer exists. It is VERY convenient to have the switch on top of the lamp shade and VERY Inconvenient not to have it there!!!
Thanks for listening.1

Excellent lampDanielVery useful and a great replacement for the old lamp. 5
Decent reading lamp, short cordKarenI recently purchased the beige version for reading and overall I like it so far. I do feel the plastic mounting pieces will be worn down over time - these need metal reinforcement. I find the plug-in cord to be too short and limits where I can plug it in. When adjusting position, the light unit comes out of the mounting hardware too easily.3
Imperfect, but good.Anonymous reviewerGood overall and I like the different mounting options. My only qualms are the power button being on the cable instead of the head which makes it less convenient, and the arm being a little weak which prevents it from holding certain positions as you might expect.3
Not greatAnonymous reviewerI bought this lamp a while ago and have found that the knobs to adjust the arm/head are very weak. No matter how I adjust it, the head always swings down as far as possible, making the whole lamp useless.2
Good lampJamesIf you need a basic swing arm lamp these are the best I found. These are the only ones that I have found where the lamp head is attached with a metal mount to the arm. These are half the price as the generic Noma / Globe swing arm lamps found elsewhere. My only complaint is the switch is on the cord by the base and not on the lamp head. 5
LightsBrittanyThe mounted lights work perfectly and keep little ones from grabbing cords. 5
