Works and saved me a trip to the fabric storeDAWNEUsed this to hem up and iron our drapes. Very heavy, room darkening drapes. It’s sold at a give away price - $3 and works well. We have a ton left over in the first roll. We bought 2 just in case and never even opened the second roll. We’ll use it for other things so no worries there.5
Works differently on different types of fabricsourbluerazberryI bought this tape to hem two different types of Ikea curtains. It worked quite well for the thin cotton light diffusing curtains that I bought but not very well for the black out curtains I bought. I'd honestly suggest just paying to get them hemmed as it's very frustrating to get the cuts straight and everything. I wouldn't recommend.2
Good for length adjustmentsBhaimianI bought this last month in ikia3
Need to iron longer to stay onAimieThe outcome is satisfying. However, not every strip stays on the fabric easily. For some areas, I need to spray water and iron it multiple times to get it to stick on the fabric.4
Easy to UseAlirezaSiadatIt is very easy to use. I used them to decrease height of my curtains to my desirable height5
Follow the instructions to a TMelwigYou really have to do exactly what they say in the instruction.2
I want to return itAmberinNSWe bought new curtains from IKEA. Followed the directions to the letter and we ended up with a mess. Curtains ruined, stuck in some places not others, you could see the glue through the fabric (like a honeycomb) and we asked the cashier If they would take them back and we were told no. (This is when we went through to buy another set). I will never buy his product from ikea again nor recommend this product. Stay away. Take your curtains to a taylor and pay the 10 bucks to get them hemmed.1
ZillBabI'm stunned. Very innovative.5
Perfect for non sewersDanusiamaThe Ikea curtains are best hemmed using this tape5
What a time and stress saver!mzrayrayso simple so quick loved it5
Hemming genieHockeymomThis hemming tape works very well. Easy on and lasts through the wash. Makes hemming curtains less of a chore.5
GeniusCharlI normally loathe hemming things because then I have to drag out the sewing machine, pin the whole length of something, and do a lot more work. I used these recently to hem 2 sets of curtains and it was so easy! I hemmed them while they were actually hanging on the rod, so I just folded the fabric to the length, ironed so there was a seam, put in the hemming strip and ironed on high, and trimmed awayb the excess. One thing in the instructions that should be clearer, is that when you're ironing overtop of the wet/damp cloth overtop of the fabric, your iron should be set to high. It just said iron until the fabric is dry. You just need to put the iron on high so that stream and heat is going for about 30seconds or so - the fabric doesn't need to be totally dry.5
Easy to use and effective ...purrfectI haven't used it on this set of curtains, however have in years past for different sized windows .. and found it very easy to use.5
Repeated pressing neededbonbotWas difficult to apply then it still didn’t adhere very well. Didn’t like this product.2
JoycewglSuper convenient.well worthy5
Easy to apply!CrazzyFerretGreat product, very easy to apply, holds well, would definitely buy it again!5
Alymac21Extremely practical, but even more important, the usage instructions made wise reference to the need to allow for shrinkage of curtain fabric as well as how to achieve successful hanging of curtains5
Hem for Curtin is iron onSfyhgtrtBought a few weeks ago and finally used it. It was relatively easy to use.4
No-sew miracle product!AitchteeWas v glad to find this available at IKEA. It was relatively simple to use but a lot thinner than previous product used. Unused portion got stuck on iron several times (probably because it is too light) so you need to take extra care where everything is before u start or stop ironing. (Baby wipes cleaned it off.) Had a little difficulty getting it to stick where seams were sewn - used more steam. Disregarded included instructions and used steam from steam iron on medium heat. My curtains look great now!3
MineisgoneThe tape didn't stick in some places so the bottom of the curtain looks horrible1
