Product details

When this self-watering insert is placed into the soil of any plant pot, the water will penetrate the soil through the terracotta insert.

The terracotta insert makes the water penetrate more slowly than other solutions, so the water will last for longer.

The water container can also be replaced by a 1 litre PET bottle to allow for more water volume when you’re away on vacation.

The water container is made from semi-transparent plastic so you can see the water level and add water when needed.

The water container has a lid on the top for easy refilling, while also keeping insects away.

Ratings and reviews

loose fit between funnel and terra cotta pieceCarrieReturned item. The funnel did not fit securely on the terra cotta piece resulting in an inability to hold water.1
Perfect JoanneBut please look at the directions carefully. I had to redo it 3x before I got it right. My plant now has its first leaf in a year while I was away for 5 days. Buying more of them for all my plants.5
DisappointingKarenI bought a lot of these, both sizes, and tested them on my potted plants before going on a vacay. Whoa! The large ones were half empty overnight! Figured I should try them anyway, When I got back after 5 days, all of my herbs were in different stages of decay. Dill which was beautiful and flowering died from root rot. Thyme, parsley, rosemary were droopy and over watered. Poppies all died. The geraniums did survive. Have stopped using them all now. 1
Good watering.IsabelleI have a few of these and they work perfect. Depending of the plant, they empty at different rates, giving just the right amount of water. They are the perfect watering solution.5
Disappointed KamilahI found this to actually overwatered my dracaena fragrans plant (corn plant) and the soil was very wet and rotted the roots. It was in a planter with holes too but the water drained too fast from the funnel. So use with caution !2
self water plant svamskogJackyThought this would gradually water plant so I do not drown it, or keep it too moist. Seems to empty quickly. Jury still out on if this is a good product. More time needed to assess- basically if my plant dies from overwatering. 2
Works Well, Lids Not SecuredAerinI used this outdoors in small garden beds where I couldn't fit a traditional larger olla. Works well, but the lids do blow off in the wind, as they just sit on top Perhaps future iterations will have some sort of rubber to keep the lid more securely on.4
Works Outdoors AerinUsed outdoor in small pots that dry out fast. Works well so far, three weeks in!4
Works great!IsabelAwesome!5
Amazing and cuteEmilieI always have trouble with watering my plants, and bought 6 of these for all my plants! They're amazing and look good too (slight blue tint) and are so easy to refill. Note: When making them, I put the rubber thing on the terracotta stake and it was really hard to make the cone fit. Instead, put the rubber piece into the cone first (like a bottle cork), and then put the terracotta stake in. It fits so much better, way less hassle to make it fit, and also makes a better seal :)5
Works great, just lid is looseRebeccaThe function of it works great, unfortunately the lid sits loosely on it so using it outside I had to add tape to try and prevent it from blowing away on windy days.4
Only for small potsGeorgianaIt's a good product, but more than one is needed for bigger plant pots.4
It's good for big plantsSvetlanaSelf-watering works good for the plants with good roots. Otherwise the soil becomes too soggy.5
I love this!! Works well! MelanieI’ve put this in my finicky fig tree. I have not over watered or under watered it since my purchase. I will be purchasing more for my other hard to keep happy plants. Good price too.5
