Product details

The sideboard in walnut veneer and solid ash brings a warm, natural feeling to your room.

The distinctive grain pattern in the walnut veneer gives each piece of furniture a unique character.

Walnut is a naturally hardwearing material. The surface has been made even more durable by a protective coat of lacquer.

Push openers give the sideboard a streamlined look with no handles or knobs needed.

Inside the sideboard are two drawers and two adjustable shelves in walnut veneer and solid wood.

The sideboard has adjustable feet so it stands evenly on uneven floors.

    Care

    Wipe clean using a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.

    Rub the wooden rails with candle wax now and then to keep the drawer sliding smoothly.

Pretty easy to assembleBeverleyJust what I've been looking for. I thought it may be too big for my small apartment but it looks just fine and is a good use of a smaller space. I put it together myself (a 60 year old woman). It took just over 3 hours and everything fit nicely together. It is heavy lifting when you have to turn it right side up so may be best to get help for that. I thought it would be hard getting to doors on but it was better than expected. I did need to resort to youtube as it was hard to get the drawer pieces to align. I just didn't have the strength to push it down but with a lot of effort it worked. An electric screw driver would have come in handy. 5

Nice piece of furnitureHollyOverall. Very nice piece of furniture. Using it in the front entry for shoe storage & inside drawers for gloves & winter hats. NOTE: for assembly, be sure to check p. 27 & 29. Pay close attention to the packaging with the hardware in it. Some hardware is for exterior doors & the other hardware is for interior doors. Easy to assemble piece & looks like the $2700 unit I was looking at. Doors work but still need some fine tuning, so we’ll have a handy person come by to check it out. Overall looks nice & good value for the money. Thanks IKEA!4
No longer finished on both sides, drawers very flimsyBlakeThe website shows the Stockholm units as finished on both sides, but this one arrived with a back panel that was solid brown. The rear frame is also not wood grain. Something to keep in mind if, like ours, it is in front of a railing. You can install the back panel in reverse, but the frame is still solid brown. The pull out drawers are not mounted with regular drawer frames, but just hang on a piece of wood. Very flimsy and loose, feel extremely cheap. There are no part numbers on any of the panels or in the instructions, so you really have to make sure you are using the right ones.3
Chic Sideboard and well builtLuA little bit heavy though but worth every pennies! Instruction was clear and easy to put together for most of the parts, just take some time to adjust the push open door as you need to move up/down front and back to narrow the door gap. Other than that, I am VERY satisfied with my purchase!!!!!!!!5

I had been looking for a sideboard for a full year when I stumbled across this. It is the perfect color, size and look. Looks expensive but is cheaper than most I had looked at. I love it!

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet fixed on things like particleboards to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak and beech and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Details create long-term quality. When I designed the STOCKHOLM series, I used lacquer that protects the surface and makes the material feel natural. The big picture was key, and the robust look is also on the inside and the backside. The slightly higher legs add simplicity to the expression and the table’s soft lines and the straight design of the storage units create contrasts, just like in nature. The result is timeless furniture ‒ just as beautiful alone as together!
