It’s held on by an elastic around the corners only but I don’t understand why that’s a problem for other customers possibly if their mattress is very thin it may move more. For me it fits perfectly, has a nice thickness and quilty feeling to it and is 100% waterproof. My toddlers have peed and vomited it and it goes through the wash coming out fresh and more importantly it kept the mattresses in perfect condition. My only regret is I didn’t buy enough of them. It reminds me of a plasticy, solvent like smell. The smell continues despite washing, and now I am airing out the material on an outdoor laundry rack. I am sure the smell will eventually dissipate but it is quite potent when the product is newly unwrapped.3
