I had high hopesKristaI had been looking for a pinstriped duvet set for a while and was happy to have found this one at IKEA. The fabric is only 118 thread count, which is quite low, but I thought I would give it a try. The material is 100% cotton and does have a slight scratchiness to it. The display duvet cover in the store felt very soft, likely from being touched and handled a lot. This was positive, as I figured that after a few washes and some wear, the fabric would soften nicely.
I had the set on our bed for a few days and came to find a few holes in it, which I believe were caused by my pets lying on it and possibly scratching it with a claw. I was shocked at how easily these holes were made. I have existing duvet covers that absolutely do not rip like this. I believe it is due to the low thread count. At this rate, the duvet will be in pieces in no time. It is not durable enough for regular use, especially if you have pets. Sadly, I will be returning it.2
Good Material, Design needs improvmentMarleneBoth my boys like the fabric. Washed only once and happy with material not wrinkling. Although could use better closure other than buttons as they keep coming undone. Perhaps snaps would be better along with ties to keep duvet in place.3
HolesCaraSo cute! Love the colour and look but has several small holes and rips in it that I’ve had to mend after only 1 month of having it. Definitely not sturdy enough for anyone who shares a bed with their pets. Also, we put our king size comforter in the king size cover we bought and the cover is too small, so the comforter is bulky and baggy inside the cover. Not ideal! Definitely not the right measurements. 1
Comfy, but could be softerCarmenComfy, but could be softer4
Holes after a couple washesOliviaI love the look. Sadly, after washing the duvet cover just a couple of times, there are two fairly large holes in the fabric - not along the seams. I don’t mind that the fabric isn’t the softest but I didn’t expect such low quality. The seams are also a bit haphazardly sewn. I hope IKEA will come out with a better quality version of this pattern.1
Great qualityStephanieHeavy cotton that doesn’t wrinkle. The stripes are beautiful. Very comfortable. Very happy5
Not what it shows in the photoAlyssaI was hoping to replace an older version of this. I was excited to order to see they still had it (or close to it). The lines are not what is shown. They are much wider grey with thin white. The cover is darker than the photo. I don’t live anywhere close to an ikea to even pop in.1
Fabric is scratchyHelenI always purchase my bedding from ikea and have always been pleased with its softness and durability. I purchased the striped duvet cover and am very disappointed in how scratchy and rough it is even after multiple washes. I will need to replace it with another duvet cover. 2
Duvet coverLyndaNo ties to assist holding the duvet down
Fabric is a bit rough hopefully will soften with more washings4
Life is too short for a duvet cover without corner tiesColleenYou deserve to sleep under a blanket that is securely nestled from corner to corner. I washed this before I noticed, don't make my mistake.2
Solfibbla duvet coverLyndaBeautiful and perfect fit for my bed. Material is durable but yet still soft. Wash well and maintain it's form.5
Cozy dreamingAnonymousSoft and comfortable. Purchased in the green and the blue options and love both. Can be dressed up with accents (pillows/throw). Great quality.5
pattern is great but feels a bit scratchyJeaniewe love the lined look, however am hoping that with continued washing, the fabric will soften, as it feels scratchy to the touch.4
Love it!SharmayIt’s the perfect mixture of softness and crispness. I’m so happy I decided to buy it. Also purchased the green-grey sheet set. Now I need a throw blanket and throw cushion covers to match. Any ideas?5
Comfortable and stylishShelinaIt was love at first sight when I saw this gorgeous blue striped duvet cover while wandering through Ikea. It was stiff on the first use, but after one wash, it got wrinkly but softer. At 100 per cent cotton, matching pillowcases that are large enough to fit oversized pillows, beautiful blue buttons to keep your duvet in place and a really reasonable price point, I’ll be keeping an eye on ikea for any future duvet covers for my home.4
