Not useful verticallyAlinaCute, but I purchased it to be used vertically. It simply can't be done - the two holders do not provide any grip on the side of the grid. without any silicone insert or something it's a very wobbly structure that keeps tilting toward one side or the other depending where the weight is. Had to use it horizontally. Keep in mind that you will also have to drill an extra hole for it - placement of screws for horizontal use is wider than that for the vertical. My first ever not as awesome purchase from Ikea.
