Wonderful!SebastienI was looking for the perfect quilt and lo and behold, I found it at Ikea! Amazing value for the price, it looks gorgeous and sleeps like a dream! Absolutely love it and recommend. I read many reviews mentioning a terrible smell; I didn't have that issue with mine.
Terrible smellKarenI bought two of these for two twin beds. They look good but I can’t get rid of the terrible smell. I’ve tried washing them and then airing them in the sun for a day twice, tried soaking with a cup of white vinegar in the water and then washing, and finally tried washing with Lysol laundry disinfectant. I certainly hope the fumes are not toxic.
Overpowering SmellKarenI bought two twin quilts. They are just the right weight for Spring weather and look good. However, the smell is overpowering. I tried washing them and airing them outside in the sun for a day but that didn’t help. I soaked them with a cup of white vinegar in the water and that didn’t help. Lastly, I washed them again with Lysol laundry disinfectant and that didn’t help. I can’t return them as I cut the white tag off. I’m a senior on a limited budget so can’t just be writing them off and buying something new so I hope they haven’t been treated with some kind of toxic fire retardant or something. Can Ikea guarantee that these quilts are okay to use with the smell?
Smells awfulJenniferWhile I love the colour and style, it reeks. I washed it with scent beads and laundry soap and it still smells horrible. Someone tell me it gets better because there is no way I can use this as bedding at the moment.
My hack - sofa coverSueI needed a large, durable cover for an older sofa; this bedspread fits the bill. It's easy to position over the sofa and can be machine washed as needed.
