Heavy solidly built fry panRandyVery heavy, easily 2x the weight of the 11 inch Stainless Hemcomst, thicker base offers very good heat retention and even distribution.
While not deal breakers there are few things that slightly curb my total enthusiasm for this pan.
1. the pan sides are curved, and the flat bottom is actually roughly 1" smaller than the Hemcomst. I find I can only lay down 3 to 4 long strips of bacon flat using this pan vs the Hemcomst.
2. I like the shorter handle, and surprised but the silicone grip is able to withstand oven use to 425F. But the little problem I have notice after 2 years of use, the silicone kind of stick out the end of the handle rougly 1/16". I am not sure if the silicone is expanding as it ages. While it doens't seem to loosen the grip, I guess I am worried longevity of the silicone piece.
Other than that I really love using this pan.5
Quality GregExcellent quality & comes with a 15 year warranty. Cooks great with excellent heat distribution and cleans up with ease. By far Ikeas best quality product. It made me buy the 9” smaller frying pan as well as the sauce pan.
