If you have a photo, you might want to have it in the very front, but an artwork on watercolour paper with a slightly handmade feel, is nice to place further back in the frame to emphasize the paper texture and give the motif more life,” suggests Andreas.

This frame fits with a picture that has dimensions 40x50 cm if you use it with the mount, and it fits with a picture that has dimensions 50x70 cm if you choose to use the frame without the mount.
The mount will not turn yellow since it is acid-free.
Screws for wall mounting not included. Different wall materials require different fixing devices, use devices suitable for your walls. IKEA recommends ALFTA adhesive hook. 2 ALFTA hooks needed.

Plastic :(BerniceViewing the frames in person, I liked the overall look but was disappointed to find they all use plastic instead of glass. The product description says this is safer, but these days we are trying to reduce our plastic purchases, and aesthetically speaking, I felt the thin plastic was also noticeable vs. the substantiality of real glass.
They're not 3cm thickScottI baught a frame from Ikea years ago and they were thick the whole way around, these are only 3cm at the front and side, behind the frame is barely a centimeter.

Attempting to super glue it back together because the replacement hassle isn't worth it. Very disappointing and seeing this is a very common issue with these frames. Beware- Not Glass! EstherUnfortunately IKEA has decided to swap glass for plastic in this frame. It’s an affordable frame but when mixed in with frames with real glass, you can see the difference. It’s bowing and distorts the picture in sunlight and lamp light. I will definitely pay more attention to this with future purchases.

“Hanging something on the wall is a simple trick when you want to create a more homely feel or tie the interior in a room together,” says Andreas Fredriksson, the designer behind RÖDALM, a family of frames in different sizes, colours and wood expressions.

”We have also reinforced the back of RÖDALM to make it durable and prevent the frame from warping. That’s good if you change addresses often or enjoy refurnishing,” explains Andreas. He believes the pictures people hang on their walls can give clues about their lives and who they are, but how you choose to frame them can also be revealing. ”I enjoy creating collages using frames in various sizes and styles on a small wall surface, for example, old ornate flea market frames together with a modern frame like RÖDALM.” Then, the actual motif becomes less important, and a simple brushstroke on a beautiful piece of paper can be enough. “In the end, what’s important is not necessarily what you choose to hang on your walls, but that you put something up that feels like you.”

What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
