Alternate usePennyI needed a 18x24 drop in frame for a 3/4 inch canvas but nothing available at IKEA. Took the parts, except "glass"included out and dropped the canvas in behind the "glass". Placed the wooden divider behind then backing sheet. Was able to adjust bendy things enough to hold it all together. Works fine but would have preferred a front load drop in frame.
good, but disappointedDianaThe frame itself is lovely. I didn't need it for the 9-frame option, but for the full frame, since it was the only frame in IKEA that fit my needs. I was really excited that a plastic sheet came along with the frame since it would make a perfect cover for the puzzle I wanted to fill the frame.
(Note: I never frame puzzles, but discovered that although I did not enjoy putting the puzzle together as much as I had hoped, I love looking at it, and the piece edges give the picture a texture that actually improves it.)
However, I discovered that this "perfect" plastic sheet has a strip of PERMANENT recycling signs imprinted/embedded across it, which makes it totally useless for anything -- other than recycling.
I am very frustrated.
IKEA -- Please stop adding recycling stamps on things that could actually be USED with the product. Use a removable sticker (one that doesn't leave a mark, please).
Also, please remember that your products are not always used as you think they will be.
Previous model was betterNicolaPurchased this 3 months ago and thought it was great! Went back today to get another, only to discover it's now made with cheap plastic instead of glass. Same price but now just a thin floppy sheet, super dissapointed...too much plastic now at ikea :(

”We have also reinforced the back of RÖDALM to make it durable and prevent the frame from warping. That’s good if you change addresses often or enjoy refurnishing,” explains Andreas. He believes the pictures people hang on their walls can give clues about their lives and who they are, but how you choose to frame them can also be revealing. ”I enjoy creating collages using frames in various sizes and styles on a small wall surface, for example, old ornate flea market frames together with a modern frame like RÖDALM.” Then, the actual motif becomes less important, and a simple brushstroke on a beautiful piece of paper can be enough. “In the end, what’s important is not necessarily what you choose to hang on your walls, but that you put something up that feels like you.”

What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
