Ratings and reviews

Picture sizes are not as advertisedCaitlinI would love to be able to give this a 5star rating but the photo sizes advertised are incorrect. It shows two 8x12” photos but the cut outs are actually closer to 9 1/4 x 7 1/4””, the 5x7’s are also closer to 4 1/2 x 6 1/2” so when ordering photos the sizing is off. 2
Wrong matting sizeWendySame issue as other reviews which I should have read. Matting says 8x12 - it’s not right and I didn’t realize until after I had printed the photos. Fix this ikea!2
Mating sizes displayed in the frame are wrongMichaelBought in store and the frame label states two 8x12 pictures, however, the mating (visible portion) is only 7.5x9.5. Having printed 8x12 photos a good portion of the pictures are hidden when displayed. Frames have a nice look but a bit disappointing to have discovered the disparity only when mounting the photos.2
The posted mating sizes are wrongVanessaBe sure to measure the actual size of the mating. The picture describing the size of mating windows are wrong. It says 2 of them are 8x12" but in reality they are just a bit smaller than 8x10".3

RÖDALM Frame for 5 pictures, black, 25 ¼x28 "

Give your art the attention it deserves

Frames not only protect your photos and memories. They’re also good when you want to add the finishing touch to your interior. With RÖDALM, there are as many possibilities as there are motifs. You can use the frame to give your favourite painting or picture both more depth and the attention it deserves.

“Hanging something on the wall is a simple trick when you want to create a more homely feel or tie the interior in a room together,” says Andreas Fredriksson, the designer behind RÖDALM, a family of frames in different sizes, colours and wood expressions.

Create a new dimension at home

RÖDALM has simple and clean lines that work well with different types of interiors. The deep profile draws the eye but has a practical function too. “You can place the motif directly against the plastic front or further back to create depth and a 3D effect. If you have a photo, you might want to have it in the very front, but an artwork on watercolour paper with a slightly handmade feel, is nice to place further back in the frame to emphasize the paper texture and give the motif more life,” suggests Andreas.

Be bold, be yourself

”We have also reinforced the back of RÖDALM to make it durable and prevent the frame from warping. That’s good if you change addresses often or enjoy refurnishing,” explains Andreas. He believes the pictures people hang on their walls can give clues about their lives and who they are, but how you choose to frame them can also be revealing. ”I enjoy creating collages using frames in various sizes and styles on a small wall surface, for example, old ornate flea market frames together with a modern frame like RÖDALM.” Then, the actual motif becomes less important, and a simple brushstroke on a beautiful piece of paper can be enough. “In the end, what’s important is not necessarily what you choose to hang on your walls, but that you put something up that feels like you.”

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
