The deep profile draws the eye but has a practical function too. “You can place the motif directly against the plastic front or further back to create depth and a 3D effect. If you have a photo, you might want to have it in the very front, but an artwork on watercolour paper with a slightly handmade feel, is nice to place further back in the frame to emphasize the paper texture and give the motif more life,” suggests Andreas.

With ALFTA adhesive hook you can easily hang this frame without nails or screws.
The frame can be used horizontally or vertically, whichever suits you or your picture best.

This frame fits with a picture that has dimensions 50x70 cm if you use it with the mount, and it fits with a picture that has dimensions 61x91 cm if you choose to use the frame without the mount.
The mount will not turn yellow since it is acid-free.
Screws for wall mounting not included. Different wall materials require different fixing devices, use devices suitable for your walls. IKEA recommends ALFTA adhesive hook. 2 ALFTA hooks needed.

Elegant picture frame. PavelAn elegant picture frame. It has two options of being a shadow box or a regular picture frame- for shadow box it has a little inner plastic bracket inside( about 5mm deep) to give it depth, otherwise it is a regular picture frame. Birch texture blends well with almost any interior décor styles Modern/country/Rustic. You can hang it on a wall or have it stand on a table/shelf. The one draw back is that the glass cover is plexiglass. If you are not careful it can easily scratch. So when wiping and dusting use soft cloths and apply minimum pressure. Its a minor inconvenience for the price you pay.
The frame itself is very sturdy and feels like solid wood. The wedges at the back can be bent by hand or a simple butter knife. I would recommend this type of frame for a family and friends photos/portraits. Overall I am very happy with this frame.

“Hanging something on the wall is a simple trick when you want to create a more homely feel or tie the interior in a room together,” says Andreas Fredriksson, the designer behind RÖDALM, a family of frames in different sizes, colours and wood expressions.

”We have also reinforced the back of RÖDALM to make it durable and prevent the frame from warping. That’s good if you change addresses often or enjoy refurnishing,” explains Andreas. He believes the pictures people hang on their walls can give clues about their lives and who they are, but how you choose to frame them can also be revealing. ”I enjoy creating collages using frames in various sizes and styles on a small wall surface, for example, old ornate flea market frames together with a modern frame like RÖDALM.” Then, the actual motif becomes less important, and a simple brushstroke on a beautiful piece of paper can be enough. “In the end, what’s important is not necessarily what you choose to hang on your walls, but that you put something up that feels like you.”

What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
