Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

Glass is really fragileJuliaIt’s great for brewing a decent pot of hot or cold brew tea with a lot of room for tea leaves and simple design. The issue is the glass is really thin, we’ve only had it a few months and it already broke when we were hand washing it. We didn’t drop it or bang it against our sink, it broke when we’re were trying to get the plastic lid out of the pot by hand. So buyer beware to be really gentle with it when washing.

Quality has gone downhill! Great Teapot for cold brewGarechI bought this for cold brew. Easy instructions online how to make it using a course grind. My only complaint is that there are NO instructions on how to take the top off to get at the filter. Had to come to the review section to understand that it is a push down and twist. Stylish Teapot, But the Mesh Falls Short for Fine Loose-Leaf TeasPamodhThis teapot has a sleek design and the built-in mesh is convenient in theory, but it struggled with finer loose-leaf teas. I used premium Ceylon loose-leaf tea with small, pliable leaves (just a few millimetres in size), and a noticeable amount of leaf particles leaked through the mesh into the glass bottom of the teapot. Because of this, it seems better suited to larger or more tightly rolled tea leaves. The lid will become a bit loose after some usage. On the positive side, it's very stylish and the pot does a good job of retaining heat, keeping the tea warm for around 15–20 minutes. Overall, it’s decent for heat retention and ease of use, but the mesh could be finer to handle higher-quality or smaller loose-leaf teas more effectively.
