RikligWilmaReally like it. I also use it as a cold water pitcher to keep in fridge. It can have multiple uses. I like that about it.4
Design Flaw makes it DANGEROUSNick M.This is a beautiful teapot and very good value. I bought the 1.6l ( larger ) size. Here is the danger problem: When filled full with boiling water it is quite heavy. Because of the curve of the handle, when picked up it wants to tip forward and very easily slips through your grip. This is compounded if your hands are wet or sweaty. Because I was not aware of this, the first time I picked it up I nearly scalded myself as it tipped far forward and hot water came out of the spout and out of the top. This would not happen if the handle was made square so you could get purchase on it without it slipping. So yes it is a beautiful item but just use with caution. This might not be a problem with the smaller version.1

Great big pot for teaCarolinePours very well, holds a great big amount of tea. Super easy to clean. The only issue is removing the infuser after tea is infused. You have to use a fork to pry it up and then remove it.4
Great sizeEI us this tea pot daily for loose tea. It holds about 2 cups. A few improvements could be made to make it user friendly as I find the middle mesh area difficult to get out without taking off the lid, which must be at exactly the right spot to come off. If not lined up correctly, I need to mess with it for a bit to line it up correctly. All in all a good product though.4

My favourite tea potDebbieLove the built in infuser. It is a little fragile so you have to pay attention washing and placing it on a stone countertop.5

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavor to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
