This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 40,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5-6 (the ability to resist color fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This seating furniture is tested and complies with relevant strength and durability standards. New Lower QualityGreggThe loss of quality is clearly apparent when I compare my new Poang and Poang Cushion to my former Poang. While I appreciate that the updated assembly has allowed for a flatter package thus lowering shipping costs - the quality of the finishing of the bentwood is inferior. The cushion - while very handsome is already showing signs of pilling. Disappointing as this is an icon product in the IKEA product range! 3

These chairs are the most comfortable and look nice in all the available colors. I bought this one for my sister and don’t think she gets out of it. I have 3 of them. They are well made and sturdy. Love them and love IKEA!!!

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
