Combine this bed frame with a slatted bed base with a max. thickness of 4 cm to keep the slats hidden in the frame. The slats of a higher bed base may be visible along the sides of the bed.

SnappedAmandaMy son’s bed little over a year old snapped right at the centre beam of the head board. When I contacted IKEA they didn’t seem to care or concerned at all. When reading the reviews I can see I wasn’t the only this happened too.
Disappointed WendiMy 15 yr old daughter saved and purchased this bed with slats for herself. She slept on it 3 nights and then the centre beam snapped where it connects to the footboard. She can’t sleep on it. While this isn’t top end I certainly expect more than 3 nights.

So bad it should not be for saleRuthThere is a reason why this bedframe is so cheap. I am used to Ikea sometimes not providing the correct parts or not putting the correct size holes in, but this bedframe is fundamentally flawed. Over time the sides of the bed bow ever so slightly outwards, even with the supports provided, meaning the bed slats fall through regularly. It's incredibly annoying and unsafe. Please note this doesn't require any particular "excitement" on the bed, just regular use. Unless you basically want to do a bunch of carpentry to fix it don't bother buying. Waste of money.

Great. going on 4 years now.AngeliqueI have had this bed for 4 years. I change my blankets weekly move the whole bed and mattress to do so and I have never had an issue once with the screws coming out or anything. the bed is in mint condition and I sleep on it every night. Maybe the quality change from 4 years ago but this is a great bed frame. very minimal which is what I like. my only complaint is because my mattress is extremely thick it levels with the back frame. therefore my head hits it sometimes because of this and its hard. other than that this was a very awesome purchase.

Worth the money!AnonymousI know everyone reviews his bed and gives it such bad reviews and I can totally see why but I also would like to point out that this is only the frame and you need to buy the slats to actually hold up your mattress. This bed was fairly easy to assemble as no complicated instructions and only needed some dowels and bolts for assembly. The assembly took me around an hour and a half to two hours. The slates were also very easy to put on and holds up my mattress perfectly fine. I also slept on this bed with 2 full adults so I can say this bed is durable as well as functional. Overall a perfect bed for a great price but you also NEED the slats on the bed.

You move to one side ... mattress sinks. and you got to get up to adjust it. such a horrible bed frame. poorly designed.
This Pine is Fine!MaryBought this frame to replace one that was too bulky for a fairly small room. The minimalist design and natural colour opened up the space both visually and physically and it's very very solid and sturdy. One other wonderful perk is the lingering scent of natural pine wood on the room. It's a great frame for a great price, no doubt and simple to put together.
