Reading lamp doesn’t work properlyChristineThe reading lamp part is very finicky. It doesn’t consistently turn on when I press the button and sometimes only works when tilted at an angle, but doesn’t work when pointing straight down
It broke immediately and no help from IKEAMadiThis is a nice looking lamp but the smaller shade is not held on very securely, it fell off within 4 months of owning it. I contacted IKEA to see if I could purchase a replacement shade but they don't offer that. So the entire lamp is now garage, land fill. In the year 2026 that's just bad practice IKEA. Thanks for nothing.
Bad product from a poor customer service companyDucThe very long lamp does not stand straight as in the photo. It tilts. They don’t accept my return. The return counter brought the fully assembled one I bought in, then brought it out disassembled with a broken wire in the middle section. I did not know until I brought it home and trying to reassemble it. Thanks, Ikea for this terrible experience. I have my lessons learnt.
Great looking, but needs some tweaksTauseefGreat looking floor lamp, looks elegant and is useful. Will stand the test of time.
But the black wire sticks out a bit too much. Would have been better if it was white.
And the G9 bulb was unnecessarily complicated. It would been better if it was a E12 socket, then I could have used their smart bulbs. G9 are hard to come by, and it never matches the color temperature of other bulbs.
Beautiful lamp with a few questionable detail choices EarlLove the look of this lamp. Went together easily with no fitment or finish issues. Very elegant and the material choices are lovely for the price point. Two things keeping this from 5 stars. First is the black electrical cord. I don’t know why but it just seems odd and sticks out in stark contrast to the rest of the lamp. Second, is the hateful choice of IKEA to make the lower lamp a G9 bulb. I was terribly unaware of how little selection exists for G9 bulbs, made worse by the omission of a built-in dimmer. Using two different bulb types in one lamp is evil enough, but choosing such a strange bulb adds insult to injury. Overall still happy with the purchase but when IKEA is all about ease of use and making your life simpler through intelligent design, bizarre design choices like this leave the exact opposite impression.
Not easy to disassembleCarloThis is a beautiful and good quality floor lamp. The pieces have a unique attaching mechanism, which prevents it from being disassembled. I haven't found a way of taking it apart, which is a consideration when moving from one house to another.

Truly PremiumVernonpurchased the MOSSPLYM floor lamp to replace a decade-old, basic utility IKEA lamp (similar to the TÅGARP). I wanted to elevate our living room with a "quiet luxury" aesthetic, and the solid oak stem and heavy marble base deliver exactly that.
The quality upgrade is immediate; it feels incredibly solid and stable compared to my old plastic and metal lamp. However, there are functional trade-offs. The MOSSPLYM’s reading light is static, lacking the adjustable neck of my old lamp, which makes it harder to direct light precisely. Also, for a lamp of this caliber, I wish it featured a built-in dimmer rather than a simple on/off toggle.
To simplify maintenance, we placed a glass plate on top of the smaller opal shade. Now we can simply wipe the flat plate instead of cleaning inside the delicate shade. Despite these minor quirks, it is a stunning, premium statement piece.
Almost perfect!StephanieLove this lamp, it looks so amazing…. Except for the black power cord!! It looks very intense with the oak and white. I wish it was a white power cord.
