Ratings and reviews

9 years and going strongJelenaI am here writing this review because I am actually looking to add on more black leather Morabo sections. We’ve had our morabo sofa and lounge for 9 years now and it’s aged wonderfully - even with heavy 2-kids usage it’s in mint condition. It would be great for Ikea to introduce the black leather corner piece again so that we can turn our sofa lounger into a corner sofa for my growing family. Thanks5
Nice looking but very uncomfortableStevenI bought the Morabo sofa with chaise in black leather, along with the matching armchair and ottoman. It all looks pretty nice, except that the backrest cushion on the chaise sits slightly higher than the sofa backrests, giving it an uneven appearance. And the velcro that's meant to attach the chaise backrest to the sofa doesn't line up properly, so the cushion doesn't stay in place. Unfortunately, it's just not a comfortable couch to sit on. The seat cushions have little bit of give, but the backrest cushions are VERY hard, and there's zero lumbar support -- my back starts to hurt within a few minutes of sitting down. I really wanted to like this set, but after a few weeks of trying to get used to how hard and uncomfortable it is, it looks like I'm just going to have to go through the hassle of returning it all and starting over.2
Not worth the costMohammadThe quality of the sofa is quite poor. It is extremely uncomfortable to sit on, and the back support cushions constantly shift out of place. Upon unpacking, I discovered woodworms, which was an unpleasant surprise. Since I had to travel all the way from Burlington to get it, I didn't bother contacting the company; driving from Windsor would have been too inconvenient. Additionally, the leather doesn't meet the expected standard of quality.1
Comfortable. AffordableClaudiaComfortable. Affordable5
Awesome sofa, excellent sizeMichaelI love this couch - handsome design, supremely comfortable and best of all: long enough for a tall person to fully stretch out on. I’m 6’4” and I have more than enough room, even without propping my head up at one end (and this isn’t even the widest version). Time will tell, but the leather feels pretty resilient and it’s been easy to keep clean. The price (while not cheap) is just unbeatable, considering the quality and sheer amount of sofa you get for the money. Anything even close to this in aesthetic quality or comfort will easily run over $2000, and it even feels a cut above IKEA’s other leather and cloth sofa offerings. I like the style enough that I’d consider getting the ottoman as well, but not sure I’d go for the same colour... that would be a lot of tan for my living room. Considering the grey, but currently waffling about whether the mix-and-match effect will work... I would like to know if it’s possible to buy replacement seat/back cushions (or cushion covers) from Ikea, in case these ones ever get damaged.5

What are leathers, skins and hides?

Leathers, skins and hides are durable, hardwearing materials that we strive to produce as responsibly as possible. That’s why we only use by-products from the food industry and we have requirements for traceability to slaughterhouses, thereby ensuring ethically correct slaughters. The materials are then treated so that they’re usable for home decoration products. In this process we don’t allow the use of chrome, which is potentially harmful to both humans and the environment.
