Ratings and reviews

Good addition to our art studioLEEThis is a good storage box for cards, craft and scrapbook papers and tapes.4
Love the look of theCharleneLove the look of the Moppe! Very useful.5
Not exactly what I expected from IKEABehinRough surface and edges !! It seems not sanded enough. Every touch makes you feeling of scratched! And the drawers rub against each other's rough surface2
Storage cabinetJudyThe storage cabinet would probably look better if stained or painted. Lots of drawers for storage.5
Handy storageFRANCOISMet our needs. The wood can be stained or painted (which we did) or can be left as is. Just what we needed to clean up our office space.5
Love this!LORALEEWhat a great little storage unit. Was looking at options for bathroom storage and everything I looked at was more expensive and plastic then I saw this! It was out of stock at my local Ikea but signed up for notifications and got an email when it was back in stock. Bought it and painted it to match my decor. Love it!5
assembly/installationMICHELINEgood to assemble to a biger furniture or a specific piece of furniture5
MoppeRobertI bought this to declutter some of my art supplies and keep them in Easy Reach,This does that perfectly. And came fully Assembled.5
Multi purposeALANMulti purpose unit. It is the right size to tuck onto a shelf or in a cupboard.4
Organize small thingsRafaelI bought this to organize my wife jewelry and makeup stuff. It works good, however need to be painted to make it nicer since is made from plywood and wood leftover. I bit pricy but fit for its purpose4
Overpriced for what we're getting.David C.It's overpriced for what we're getting. For what we paid for this, I'd expect a smoother finish and quite possibly presealed already. The moment we paint it, the drawers don't slide in/out as well. The old handyman remedy of rubbing a bar of soap where it sticks doesn't help at all. so I went with a high tech solution and purchase frictionless tape. The tape becomes slides for the bottoms and tops of each drawer cavity. I did not apply the tape to the drawers. I stained it in a clear 2-part expoxy acrylic sealant and let that cure for 48hrs. Then I applied the frictionless tape to the upper and bottoms of each cavity where the drawers would line-up. Now it looks great, slides in and out easily and NO LONGER absorbs liquids/stains.4
not for heavy itemsLuigia N.I am keeping my buttons jars, sewing and knitting supplies in it, but now I cannot close the bottom drawer anymore: the narrow piece of plywood separating the drawers' levels are bent, and it is annoying having to use my finger and push up the bend separator through the drawer's hole in order to open it. It looks nice, but not achieving the intended storage purpose.2
I have always wanted to have itDonataI am a looooong time customer of Ikea. I've always liked the look of this product and wanted to have it. I think it disappeared from shelves for a while, but it is back in stores again. I have recently bought it for my son. O have to say honestly that, although I still love the look, the quality is a little bit lacking. I had to sand it down because it had many splinters. I ended painting it yellow - looks cute. If it is meant to be refinished, then fine - but if not, Ikea should upgrade the material it is made of.4
rough to the touchShuairough to the touch3
Lot s of spaceJeanneMy granddaughter has all her knickknacks in it, my daughter loves the fact that it is no more all over the place5
Desk organizingKristiWorks perfectly to keep a spot for all of my desk things, as it doesn’t have drawers in it.5
PerfectANGELAExactly what I was looking for in my crafting section a little stain and handles and the perfect set of drawers5
Everything in its placeSharonGreat little storage unit for all the small things my son seems to accumulate.5
Not what I expected...NancyThis mini cabinet is nice. But it is not what I expected. I had a very similar one from IKEA that I left at my parents (I purchased it over 15 years ago). The old one was smaller but somehow more functional. This one is very shallow and the drawers are not that easy to open. They don't slide very well because, obviously, it is wood rubbing on wood. Quality of the wood is ok, although very rough to the touch. All in all, "meh" would describe this purchase. It's ok. Far from perfect. But not total trash either. Meh.3

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.
