Ratings and reviews

Awful!CarmenThe eraser is not even in the centre so it half erases with only the sides. The markers. Awful too and need a lot of alcohol to remove the ink and leaves a mark anyway so the eraser is good for nothing with these markers. 1
Exactly as advertised BeckyA perfect little “kit” for the easel 5
White board markers!PatriciaThese markers are vibrant in color and are not strong smelling. Write smoothly and love the holder.5

Couleurs très pâlesHugoLes couleurs ne sont pas suffisamment foncées. Mon enfant a le même ensemble et ses crayons donnent de biens meilleurs résultats. Décevant de constater que la qualité varie d'un achat à l'autre!1

Turned my son into Mr.Scribbles.... hours of fun....NiroshThe colors are vibrant and they work great. My son loves them. The eraser needs improvement as it requires some work when cleaning the board. We found that old cloths work well at cleaning the board. Price could be a little better for what it is and keeping my fingers crossed that the ink is safe for children.4
The eraser is too thinAnnelieseThe eraser is too thin and barely works on the white board1
Mala Whiteboard Markers & EraserNatalieThe markers did not work well, as in, they seemed almost dried out. The eraser does not erase well on the whiteboard.1

MÅLA Whiteboard pen with holder/eraser, mixed colors

For all creative little explorers

Drawings all over the kitchen table and coloured felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.

We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realized that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.

Made for busy artists

The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favourite colours? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realized how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. That’s why we considered all their feedback and made sure the products met their needs.”

Easy to get started

The MÅLA series has been around for a long time, but it keeps growing and evolving as we see new needs and get new ideas. All parts should be easy to grab and use whenever inspiration strikes. “The child shouldn’t need a parent nearby to start drawing or painting. Being able to do things on your own is an important part of development. You grow with the task.”
