Ratings and reviews

Paper ripping - too longAshleyWe recently purchased a new roll for the matching dispenser. I don’t know if there was a change but this paper is a bit longer that the dispenser. The edges of the paper get caught/rip constantly. 3
I have the easel that goes with the paperElizabethIt's a great deal for the money4
Great paperJoanneYou can't beat the price for this roll of paper. I use it for a disposable surface for crafting.5
Good quality paperJasmeetIt’s thick and very good quality5
great for compost bin linerKarunvirWe started using this as a bin liner for our kitchen compost bin as we do not get news paper deliveries any more. Also the bags that are sold for this specific purpose are very pricey. So this roll of paper has worked out great for us. Also great for my 5 year old to colour and draw on.4
Good paper rollLishanIt fits on all the paper roll holders from IKEA. Good quality of paper, and the price is reasonable.5
Introducing a Toddler to Finger PaintingJeanineGreat quality product for price. Better value than other retailers. First effort already framed and hanging on wall.5
Love this.NormaThe paper is thick enough to hold up to water colour painting. It is easy for a child to use. I love the continuous length to use around the house for various jobs like lining a shelf or tracing a pattern for sewing.5
Drawing Paper RollDanielleWe have the whole paper roll holder and we use it frequently with our kids for crafts and drawing. Great product!5

Can't beat the price! GracePrice and quality you can't beat!5
Pattern perfect!JoanneI have used this in the past in my kindergarten classes for art and it’s great because you can go short or mural length. Now I am using it to draw embroidery patterns which I then transfer onto fabric with a transfer pencil. So, it’s versatile too! Good weight and recyclable when you are finished. 5
Mala paper rollNicoleThe Mala paper roll is a great deal! 30m for $5 allows lots of fun colouring, painting, using as wrap to mail items or pack up a house. Unlimited uses in my opinion. 5

For all creative little explorers

Drawings all over the kitchen table and coloured felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.

We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realized that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.

Made for busy artists

The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favourite colours? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realized how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. That’s why we considered all their feedback and made sure the products met their needs.”

Easy to get started

The MÅLA series has been around for a long time, but it keeps growing and evolving as we see new needs and get new ideas. All parts should be easy to grab and use whenever inspiration strikes. “The child shouldn’t need a parent nearby to start drawing or painting. Being able to do things on your own is an important part of development. You grow with the task.”
