Looks nice but not too sturdy and a pain to assembleNick O.I've been a fan of IKEA since 1997 and this was the first time I felt disappointed and let down. There were some screws missing but some were in excess, some previously metal screws now replaced with plastic and easily breakable during assembly; at the end the assembled desk is not very stable... The only plus is it looks nice. Returning it would be another pain in the neck as we live 2.5 hour drive from the closest IKEA store. I guess all the good things eventually go down so is IKEA :(2
Lommarp deskShirleyI am very happy with this purchase - it was exactly as I expected and wasn’t difficult to put together. It matches the bookcase I bough5 recently and will go with the storage unit I am waiting to come in stock.5
Solid deskVanessaI purchased this as the desk I orginally wanted was out of stock. I happy I did! It's a very solid and heavy desk, with a nice sized drawer in the center.4
Hard to assemble, sliders onMARTHAHard to assemble, sliders on drawers are a pain, might just have been that mine were jammed/locked shut when they arrived. Took my husband some time to get them moving with pliers. Desk looks nice, already has a few dings, so not a very tough surface but it’s a good value for money.4
Size just right and stablecookies016I'm so pleased and happy with this desk because it's a good design and perfectly sturdy. I have one comment though of the product size details. The total height of this desk is 35 3/8, the height from the bottom to the top of the desk is 29 5/8. I almost had second thoughts of buying this product because in the website it says the height of this desk from bottom to top of the desk is 35 3/8 which is too high. I hope it will be corrected so it's not confusing. But overall a good buy but a little expensive for a small desk.4
Gorgeous DeskJenGoThis is a beautiful piece. I bought this as I am now working from home. The desk is sturdy and has plenty of room for my laptop and other materials. It took about an hour to assemble (my husband and I working together). Like all IKEA products, assembly is much easier if you lay out all pieces first and carefully follow instructions (be sure to watch for proper positioning of pieces and screws, etc.). There were a few areas where we were instructed to tighten locks from the bottom. We chose to carefully turn the desk to make it easier to reach. My husband also used his headlamp for extra lighting as the desk is dark and the locks (and some screws) are black. Overall, we love our purchase and would definitely recommend.5
Gorgeous, hardy desknurozI'm a student completing my thesis remotely, and this was a perfect addition to my room -- a simple, elegant desk that my partner and I put together in about an hour. The bottom of the drawer feels a little flimsy, but I'll only be storing papers in it anyway. I do recommend seeing the desk in person, as the colour was a little bit darker than it seemed online. Overall, really happy with my purchase.5
Gorgeous and sturdySammy9This desk looks gorgeous once assembled. The finish is very nice and it is much heavier than any other desk I've bought from Ikea, which makes it feel very sturdy. I also love the section at the back for the cords. It was, however, a bit much to assemble. There are three bags of hardware that come with the desk, and the desk comes in a lot of pieces, so there's a lot to do. It took myself and one other person two hours. For the price, I feel the assembly was a little much.5
Beautiful!RCLS19I bought this desk as an accent piece for a large dining room and it was exactly what I wanted. It compliments the space very well and the colour is gorgeous. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the assembly. At one point during the process, you have to tip the desk to stand upright; when we did, the whole thing felt and sounded like it would break apart at any moment. The drawer was also a bit of a pain to install. Overall, I’m very happy with the product and would recommend it, but I’d also suggest giving yourself lots of time (and exercising lots of patience) when putting it together.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

LOMMARP stands out – and blends in. The series has references to traditional carpentry, but I've also given it a modern touch to suit today's urban lifestyles. It's a little like that unique piece of furniture you’ve inherited from a family member, with distinct details and matte colors to add personality and character to the room. LOMMARP can be used anywhere in the home where you need storage, and the expressive yet clean design makes it easy to combine with other furniture.
