Safety and compliance
To prevent your child from getting their head stuck, and avoiding serious injury, the distance between the bed and the wall must always be less than 2½" or greater than 9".High beds and the upper bed of bunk or loft beds are not suitable for children under 6 years of age due to the risk of injury from falls.It is important not to screw hooks or handles onto the bed or hang ropes or belts in which children can get caught when playing.When the bed is used as a loft bed, it is recommended for 6 years and older.

Just don't and save yourself the concussion.AnonymousThis is in practice a great idea for a bed but save yourself the traumatic brain injuries. 1) It is impossible to not smack your head on the wooden beam/bar when not used as a bunkbed. We've done it. Our kid has done this. Visitors have done it. 2) The mattress slides around. We have an older good condition ikea twin mattress which is 11inches thickness which is heavy enough it should stay put. 3) If the bed is pushed against the wall there is a huge gap between the mattress and the wall. If we move the mattress against the wall the edge of the bedframe sticks out. All in all we really regret buying this thing. If it wasnt so much trouble to disassemble and return it we would have long ago. Id give it one star but it really is a cute bed and is pretty fun for kids.

Nice bed overall but has flawsAnonymous reviewerThe bed was not too hard to put together and seems sturdy, but there are gaps between the mattess and wall. Not the easiest for a little one to climb up and down, and they bump their head a lot because of the structure of the bed.

CuteJuliaWe got this bed for our youngest and while both of our kids love playing in the bed as you're able to purchase the fun curtains, I still can't get used to the border along the top and smack my head on it! As someone who isn't very tall I didn't think it would be that big of an issue!
While I love the concept, until you turn it over for the "bunk" style bed, make sure to duck!
