Cute boxe, but needs some workJaniceI bought these boxes to store my mason jars. One box fits 8 - 250 mL jars nicely. But putting them together was a hassle. If you do think of buying them, first drill deeper guide holes on the two long side pieces. If you do that, they go together quite easily.
Had to toss KaavyaEchoing all the recent reviews that said these are a nightmare to assemble. They do not need to be in this many pieces. Do NOT buy.
Bad designCarlosLittle beautiful box, very handy and cheap but the assembly was terrible… the holes didn’t match, I had to use a drill to finish it…..
Skip ItMargaretIf you´re a fan of frustration, this product is for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and buy somewhere else. Poor design, careless manufacturing, none of the holes line up. I´ve put together many Ikea items, but this one is a joke. Not worth the bother.
Pleasing design but insanely difficult assembly. ZaeemI've built shelves, beds, tables, and so much furniture by myself but this little box might have given me more trouble than anything else! I get it's cheap but the holes simply don't line up and it's near impossible to screw them in manually. This is a great looking crate and I really do want to buy more, but I don't know if that's wise given the issues.
wobbly and hard to assemble, low quality woodKaterynaI easily assembled Billy bookcase with a glass door on my own, but for this box needed my partner's help. Spent an hour assembling. Holes are random and not finished. Looks weird :(

New version is a complete downgradeSiThe new version is a complete hassle to assemble and doesn't feel nearly as sturdy as the older version. Given the downgrade, you can get something of similar quality for cheaper at the big box hardware stores. I only bought the IKEA crate because the old design was worth paying the higher price.
For the new design now, you have to screw in 24 tiny screws for the sides and the screws strip like crazy even if you use a manual screwdriver with a Pozi bit. The wood also feels thinner and due to the change to tiny screws, they got rid of the bracing strips for the sides. If i had known about the change, I wouldn't have bought this crate at all.
Difficult to line up the piecesJordanI bought the small size to use as a riser for a plant. The predrilled holes were misaligned and made it difficult to put this together. It is crooked as a result. I also couldn’t get the stickers off the wood and will have to scrape them off.

Nice study quality MariaBought 2 of these because of how thick and sturdy they are. Found that our tv sits too low on its unit so will use these as risers under each set of legs. It’s sturdy enough to hold the weight and not move around.
Annoying to build but I keep coming back.KirstenThey function perfectly for my cause… I believe I’ve bought 8 over the years. They are a tried tested and durable storage box. However, its as if most of the screw holes intended to be used don’t properly align, or aren’t deep enough. I find a drill and some diy style ignoring the intended holes helps immensely especially with the bigger screws.
unreasonably difficult to assembleAnonymous reviewersuper cute and affordable, but is SO DIFFICULT to build. the screws don't fit. it doesn't come with a screw driver, so I assumed I would be able to get it done with any old hand screw driver but it's impossible, even with a power drill it's so hard to get them in. most of my screws ended up stripped, stuck halfway into the box and it does not come with any extra screws. took over an hour to build my first box
Extremely disappointed in this product I once lovedAnonymous reviewerI have assembled many of these throughout the years and have always loved them. I bought four yesterday and assembled two of them and have never been so dissatisfied, pieces are poorly aligned, (uneven cuts, improperly placed pilot holes) on top of this terrible alignement the screws are extremely soft and strip super easily , if you even manage to screw it completely in before it strips then forget ever trying to remove it, which becomes extremely troublesome when a piece becomes improperly placed due to the terrible pilot hole placement.
New design is flawed Anonymous reviewerI haven’t been able to assemble the boxes because the long screws do not fit in the pre-drilled holes. I’ve even used my power drill to try and fit them in but they will not budge past the halfway mark. Disappointed because I need them for a trade show and will likely not have time to pick up a replacement. :(
The new design is terribleSamanthaThe new design is terrible to assemble. I have previously build dozens of these bins and the new design is taking forever. The tiny screws strip easily since the pilot holes don’t line up, and they are soft screws. They don’t sit flush with the wood once assembled. I’d honestly pay the higher price to have the better, easier to assemble product.
Too Difficult To AssembleAugustaI echo a previous review. These are beautiful but the holes make them extremely difficult to assemble. I don't have the tools to drill each hole and this is frustrating. Most of the holes also don't line up.

They changed the design to worst FernandaThe previous design was pretty hard to assemble and they made it worse. The side individuals pieces do not align with the main piece causing your screws to be crooked and sometimes off the wood underneath. Also, not a fan of having to "make the holes" myself, especially if they don't align with the bottom
Impossible to assemble CaseyWhat a waste of money. I purchased 2 and was unable to assemble either, the holes are too small for the screws and get stuck about halfway. Disappointing and annoying that I have to battle the return lines now for a cheaply made product.
