Kivik couch with ChaiseDeborahBought as a gift for new home owners. Wish ikea still sold the large kivik sectionals though. Had bought previously for another family and would have bought same but no longer available
Awesome value but takes a while to installJackyAwesome couch, good bang for buck but just takes a few hours to install and the instructions can be a little confusing but worth it. Make sure you have a buddy help.
The kivik sofa with chaiseZeinaWe got this sofa two weeks ago in the beige-grey color. It was quite challenging to assemble and to put the covers on. Unfortunately, the original covers were too short and impossible to fit. Customer service was very helpful and suggested that we exchange them.
The new covers were also very tight, but we managed to put them on. However, they don’t look great—the covers show the Velcro at the back of the sofa. Overall, for my basement, I would give it 3 stars.
The biggest issue now is the fabric, which is extremely rough. If you’re wearing shorts, it feels almost like burlap and is very uncomfortable. I would like to know if IKEA can offer another option for the covers because I would prefer to keep the sofa, and returning such heavy items is difficult for me.
Good value AngelaGood value sectional for the price. We also bought the ottoman to make it into a U shape sofa for our living room. Lots of space for all 4 of us to relax on to watch a movie. Very comfy. Don't find it too hard at all. Very supportive. Went with the cheapest covers as I'd rather buy a better custom high end one in a few years after this one is done. I wash the cushion covers once a month and it's super quick and easy. Throw them back on right out of the wash when they're damp and within 2 hours upright they air dry. I do find that the covers get small pulls in the fabric each time it's washed but it's fine. I don't expect this to be a 10 year investment in the covers. Will definitely never buy another non-slip covered couch again with pets and kids! One year in and we still love our Kivik!
Very comfortable sofaRitaI bought the sofa+chaise combo to replace a sectional that had seen better days. The Kivik is very comfortable, has very supportive seat cushions, and a lovely washable cover. The seating is quite deep, and I tend to sit with a throw pillow behind me, but that's not difficult to do. I had looked at this sofa for a year before purchasing as it is low enough that my cats cannot possibly get under it. It is very comfortable to lie on, too, with the springs in the seat cushions giving excellent support.
Hard coughAnonymous reviewerThis cough has hard cover, no so comfy to lay down. I tried to returned because it’s not really fitting well in the living room. They said that they can’t pick it up. They could deliver to my house but they can’t pick it up. Even when I pay for the delivery. So disappointed. Don’t buy stuff online from ikea.
Big, long and hardEdwardI love how I can stretch out and relax with easy over it's length and still have space to share. My disappointment is only that it is very firm with little give at all.
Decent, but I hope it gets softerAnonymous reviewerSo far the couch has been great. I would say that it feels a little stiff at first so you have to rotate pillows to soften them evenly. I find the fabric on the couch is very rough. Hopefully the fabric will soften a little over time.
