Very comfortable but the fabric lacks qualityJeanWhile this sofa is comfortable to sit and nap on, the fabric durability is lacking. We purchased it in May 2026, and within four months, the material where we sit has already become fuzzy and worn. Furthermore, the weave is easily damaged by pets. Our cat causes threads to pull just by walking or running on it, an issue we do not experience with our older sofa downstairs.

What is that odour?LisaI purchased this kivik loveseat, a strandmon chair and footstool and extra cover for the chair and stool and had it delivered because I don’t own a vehicle. That was 1 month ago and the terrible smell of livestock excrement still emanates from the Kivik loveseat. I’m trying to hold off to see if this awful odour will disappear but at this point it isn’t looking at all hopeful. There isn’t an ikea pickup service available in my city and therefore I will have to rent a vehicle to return this loveseat to ikea for exchange. I’m not sure what the probability is I will end up with another of the same? I can’t understand why it smells like livestock excrement.
I spend very little time on this loveseat because of the smell. I’ve waited a number of years to finally afford a couch and the payments on these items. Very disappointed. And in a quandary.
Broke after 1 yearMaryamWe bought this sofa from IKEA two years ago, but the back broke after just one year of normal use. We expected much better durability. The design is nice, but the quality didn’t hold up. Unfortunately, we’re disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it.
Not as good as it used to beK.I had this sofa years ago and loved it. I still mostly love it but the covers are made more cheaply now, less durable, and the cushion covers are one sided so cant be flipped without taking the cover off and rotating it.

Easy peasy but not so lemon squeezyJamieComfy little love seat, easy to assemble and fits perfectly into my little living room. The wide low arm rests allow me to stretch out fully for those needed afternoon naps. I do regret my choice with the Tresund light beige. There was a fair amount of fabric colour transfer if I sat on the love seat with dark coloured pants. And the fabric started to pill after a couple of months. I have replaced it with another cover and hopefully won’t have the same problem.
It's pretty comfortable!ThereseIt is bigger than I thought it would be, but the measurements are accurate. It has presence! Love the low arms. The assembly was ok until I got to the back cushions, those were very hard to get into the covers, which was really annoying. I didn't iron the covers, I used a hand steamer, which was much easier. I ended up putting the back cushions on the clean floor, once in the cover, and stepping on them for a few minutes and that helped settle them in. Ikea, these covers should unzip further, it really was a struggle, and I have strong hands. But they will last a long time. So far so good! I got the Tibbley grey and it's a bit scratchy but it is brand new.
The only complaint I have was trying to smooth out the frame cover - this was not easy.
I find the height perfect - I'm 5'9" and my feet are flat on the ground, and the depth is great too. I love that the cushions are completely removable for cleaning.
I like it! Time will tell but the materials seem fine.
Good for priceSastinI bought this 9pm today and came gome insralled at 11.30pm. Not hard as you think. Very easy installation. Great for price
VERY Difficult to get covers onto the cushionsTamaraI put this together myself. It took about 90 minutes and close to half of that was fighting with the cushions as the covers are very small and it is very difficult to get them in, particularly the back cushions. Otherwise it was very straightforward.
I watched a YouTube video before starting, which was helpful and I'd highly recommend doing that.
The feet are very low and I may change them out. Cushions are firm.

Great loveseatLilianEasy to assemble, very sturdy, and it's even big enough for 3 people to sit on, despite being a loveseat, not a sofa. Great to have replaceable covers in different colours and textures too so that you can switch it up if you want a change. I would say it's closer to firm than medium, but it has enough springiness to make it very comfortable and easy to get up from, which is a bonus for anyone who has difficulty with furniture that's too soft or too low. It will be interesting to see how it stands up to long term use, but so far it seems very solid and good value for the cost.

We like our Kivik loveseat.MarshallI purchased this loveseat in Jan 2025 to replace a 1990s Natuzzi leather loveseat that was at the end of its life. I'm a man in my early 60s and, although a few of the boxes were heavy, I was able to pick them off the shelf and load them into my truck by myself.
The assembly instructions were easy to understand and I was able to build the loveseat on my own. The frame construction of the Kivik was nearly identical to that of my old Natuzzi so I expect it will provide many years of good use.
We use this loveseat daily when watching television and reading, and also for napping. It is very comfortable doing all of that but you will need a pillow when napping. You also can buy new fabrics if they become damaged or if you want to change the decor.

Great fit for space AmenzeI really like the Kivik love seat, it fits perfectly in my small apartment and is comfy. Only downside is the material of the covers. I felt the green covers at Ikea and assumed the grey covers would be just as soft. When I touched the covers while I was building the love seat, I found that the material is very scratchy and rough. I really wish I got the green covers instead, my skin is super sensitive and is not loving the texture of the grey material.
