    Care

    For outdoor use.

    Never use a steel scourer, scourer pad or similar products as they can scratch the surface.

    To protect the tap from frost damage, completely drain the tap from all water by disconnecting the water supply, then opening the tap (max. 1 minute) to allow all remaining water to drain.

  • Keep in mind that the water is not suitable for drinking if the tap is connected to a garden hose.

Faucet is nice, missing essential parts. EmilyBought in Canada. Faucet comes in a box, and on the box it lists 1x of 6 items, the faucet and 5 other connector/gasket parts. Those parts DO NOT come in the box, nor are they Ikea parts. You must go to a hardware store to get them. Annoyed that this wasn't made clear. 3
Frustrating Installation WarrenIt's supposed to be easy to connect to a garden hose, but it's anything but. It only comes with one half of a quick connector, they don't sell the other half, and it's not compatible with other quick connectors. The pipe is supposed to be 1/2" NPT in North America. If this is true, you will need a 1/2" FNPT (female NPT) x FHT (female hose thread) swivel adapter to connect to a hose. But the pipe could actually be G1/2 thread (also known as 1/2" BSPP). If so, you will also need to use a G1/2 female X 1/2" MNPT (male NPT) adapter on the pipe, and then attach the other adapter to attach a hose (use teflon tape on the G thread). G thread doesn't seem to exist in Canada, so you will probably need to find this adapter on Amazon. The faucet itself seems fine and a good value, but it's absurd that it can't connect to a hose out of the box and that it may not even be compatible with North American fittings when sold in Canada.2
1/2" NPT (MIP) - use dishwasher install kit.IanDidn't have much luck with a 1/2" FIP to 3/4" FIP bushing. Seems like best idea is to go with a dishwasher install kit that comes with 1/2" FIP adapters and ends in garden hose (new dishwasher standard) for a garden hose outdoor kitchen install.3

Material

What is brass?

Brass is a mixture of copper and zinc and the amounts vary depending on the desired properties. Copper is usually the main material and the more zinc you add results in the brass being harder and stronger, but also results in it being more difficult to shape and less resistant to rust. Brass can be recycled as brass but never into its original metals. At IKEA, we use brass for things like knobs, handles, frames and taps.
