Not sturdy/attached to kallaxSerenaVery disappointed as it doesn't specify when shopping that the kallax literally just sits on top of the legs and not very tightly!! The unit can shift while the legs sit in the same place... Making it potentially dangerous if unable to attach it to a wall and difficult to move at any point unless move as two seperate pieces... Probably would look into different options next time!

Quilting StorageChristinaThis base was extremely helpful especially when the Kallax unit was on top of it. I store quilt fabrics and the base made the unit higher so that the fabrics were not even with the floor.

The metal frame for book shelf DannyI haven't bought it when I bought the book shelf couple months earlier. However I think it will be better to put the supporting base which is coming nice outlook and complete setup after.

Shelf legsSherryI like the base to put the kallax shelf on, raises it just enough to clean under and makes it smarter looking as I have them as a tv stand and in an entranceway. The only drawback, it doesn’t fit the old kallax, which they shrunk by an inch. I needed to buy a replacement one anyway since the other was a decade old.

Great stand but...RehanWish if it also had legs in the centre. I store vinyl LPs, and I can see from my digital leveller, that whole unit is slightly down/sagged in the middle.
As much as stand is great for normal stuff but storing heavy can be a bit risky, so I am thinking to put something underneath in the centre.
Smaller than Older Kallax ShelfJoI have an older Kallax shelf that is too large for the stand. Unfortunately I will need to purchase a new shelf unit to sit on stand.
Does not fit old KALLAX Shelf!!CherylSo disappointing that it did not fit my old KALLAX shelf! Unfortunately I build the whole thing and then realized that it didn't fit when I tried to add to my shelf. ALSO, one of the screws/feet would not screw in so I would not have been able to use the feet which are for balancing the shelf on uneven surfaces.....

Kallax BaseKarynEasily assembled. Strong. Nice look to elevate the Kallax units off the floor, especially in a basement where moisture could be a problem. I bought three of these units. One foot screw on one of the units would not screw in, so I will be returning this unit. (The threads in the steel were not made properly.)
Kallax and ExpeditMichelleI did not realize that Kallax is the new name for the older Expedit. The older Expedit has slightly larger dimensions, so the base does not fit. It would have been beneficial that an adapter would be made available.

Doesn't fit old model kallax shelvesBriannaI have a older 4x2 kallax shelf and the brackets to clip into this leg piece does not fit the older model since apparently the newer kallax units have thinner frame pieces. It would be great if ikea offered slightly longer brackets to work with older shelving units.
Does not fit shelves made before 2013MarjolaineThis should be made a lot more clear in the listing, now I am stuck with 2 shelves and 2 bases that won't fit together. Way to renew the look of a room by overstuffing it!!
