Sturdy shelving unit for a good priceSiu-SoI followed Bruce's May 7 review to use his method to put the shelving together, and same as Andrew's June 28 review which I also do not have a clamp, I can put the unit together within 1.5 hours. I am 67 years old that I just needed a bit more time to do. Thanks to Bruce's revised method.5
A dealSarahYou do need to use force to align the holes , but this is one of the reasons it is so sturdy. If the elbow grease is why it costs only 30 dollars, I'll take it.5
The worst thing I’ve put together from ikeaKimberlyDon’t bother getting this unless you have a drill. The shelves are not square and you need to bend the metal to get it into place. 2
Great end product, but challenging to build; See caveats & tips belowAndrewEnd product is exactly what I needed but takes some time & strength to assemble. Here are things to know before buying & tips on building: -Shelves are meant to be screwed into a wall for support. (I didn't, but just know that's the intent) -Once assembled there's still some sharp edges on top so be careful with kids. -Before assembly the metal is flexible & bendy so you need to put muscle into really pulling/pushing the pieces to make the holes line up. If built carefully it all becomes firm, sturdy, & level at the end. -Read Bruce's review from May 7, 2025. He gives much better assembly instructions than the included directions! (I didn't have a clamp like he suggested - I used strength & got blisters doing it LOL. I still got it tight & sturdy, but WOW a clamp would have helped.) -Begin assembly on a rug or carpet as instructed & leave screws slightly loose. Then stand shelves upright on a flat even surface for a tightening pass with a level. Tighten from bottom shelf to top.4
BadSuzannaDifficult to assemble and not study at all1
Bad quality SabriScrews holes are not aligned at all, seems like the 6 packages was rejected , don't recommend at all. Lost of time and money 1
For something so simple and functional, it's sure a pain to buildGrantAs long as you're ready for the typical Ikea build frustration, it's cheap and it works. Something so simple yet such a pain to build. I have power tools and have built plenty of Ikea stuff but this one wins in terms for the simplicity vs frustration factor. 4 legs, 4 shelves... Simple. Yet to get the predrilled holes to fit, you must screw tightly enough to bend metal. The shelves are bent so that they're not 90 deg so guess what? You get to screw them in to get them to 90 deg. Power tools don't help as they'll just strip the screws. You need gold ol' fashioned brute force and tired forearms with a screwdriver that's just slightly too small for the screws to toy with your sanity. The shelves have a nice bow in the middle for design to go along with the "almost there" bent edges. It was such a delight to build that I took time immediately after building to write this review with my tired and shaky hands. That being said, it's cheap good outside and does what it's supposed to do. 4
IT IS THE MOST PAINFUL THING TO BUILD GursimranYes it is aesthetic and looks cute. But at what cost. None of the holes align it might seem simple but it is not. It is so painful to build this. And i bought three and all three were like that. Ugh. 1
Completely Unusable – Holes Don’t Line Up, Screws Too ShortEvaCompletely Unusable – Holes Don’t Line Up, Screws Too Short
I was really looking forward to using this shelf, but I’m now stuck with a product I can’t even assemble. The holes don’t line up with any logical positions, and the screws are too short to reach anything that makes structural sense. I would need to pierce new holes through the metal just to make it usable — and I don’t have the tools for that. For something that’s supposed to be easy to set up, this was a huge letdown.1
Better assembly method - clamp requiredBruceFirst time I put one together I had hours of frustration, sweat & tears!
However, the most recent one took less than 18 minutes after unpack.
The key is an 18" (46cm) one-handed bar clamp! (& a Phillips (+) screwdriver that hasn't *yet* been rounded-off.)
Contrary to instructions, I put ALL screws on the WIDER side of the shelf first - both legs on one side, flip it over, legs on second side.
Then flip to a narrower side, use bar clamp to push legs together so you can see the second set of holes. Sometimes you need to twist or shift shape of shelf so you can see (often incompletely) required holes. Holes DON'T need to completely align, screws will assist fix. Fill screw holes on the first narrow side, flip it over and complete second side.
Stand shelf up and straighten it out as the construction often has it way out of kilter.
Make sure all screws are tight now.
Best to attach to wall but mine are all free-standing - heavy items on bottom to steady them, light on top.5
It's acceptablePaulThe quality is okay, but it suits the need.3
Does the jobJaneIt's fine, it does the job. I found that many of the screw holes didn't quite line up, which made it challenging to get the screws in, and the flimsy little plastic feet absolutely don't stay on. But yeah, it's utility shelving, it does the job.3
great little shelvesItalolightweight yet sturdy. Could do with better bends on the shelves. Otherwise does the job.4
Affordable and great use of raw metal BUTTonyPoor execution. The shelves folder side do sit flat and making the assembly very difficult infuriating. It would have been a 4-star product but for the reason stated, it's 1-star.1
fustrating to assembleAlanVery difficult to assemble, took me way longer than i expected and even then i still gave up on a couple of screws which i couldnt ever get to fit.3
Inexpensive kitchen storage optionGloriaSleek & sturdy shelving unit that provides ample storage in my small apartment kitchen. 5
For our garageLisegood fit5
GARBAGEKaylaEven with the screws only half screwed in, in you have to push the steel together so hard you need a clamp to hold it in place. I would never recommend this to anyone, not even an enemy1
Easy to put together RaymondGood quality4
Light and solid but takes some effort to assemble.Anonymous reviewerLike many before me, I like the quality of the final product, but the assembly is a little tricky. You have to make sure each screw is screwed in as tightly as possible to align everything. Handheld drill recommended - with a regular screwdriver it's not easy. If the holes don't line up, or the alignment is slightly off, it means you didn't tighten one or more of them as much as possible. Once it's all assembled though, it's light and sturdy, can be used for many different purposes.4
