The adjustable shelf is extra heat- and impact-resistant and has a high load-bearing capacity since it is made of tempered glass.
The mirror comes with safety film on the back, which reduces the risk of injury if the glass is broken.

Very Dangerous | EmilyThis cabinet almost killed my baby
The shelves are glass and one of the first few weeks we opened it a glass shelf fell out of nowhere, and not due to mid-assembly, and shattered all over the tile bathroom floor, sending glass shards everywhere. I wrote IKEA a long email about the safety incident and while they refunded it, they weren’t willing to replace it with another cabinet that didn’t have glass shelves. Very dangerous and awful customer service for a $500 medicine cabinet.

Looks beautiful but poorly designed FlaviaI believe this product is poorly designed. The cabinet is huge, so if you don’t hang it quite high on the wall, the bottom shelf (which is too large) interferes with vanity faucet. As a consequence of hanging the cabinet quite high on the wall, and being the bottom shelf too big, the actual mirror doors end up too high! I am 160 cm tall and only my head would reflect on the mirrors. There shouldn’t be a bottom shelf or it should have been designed to be a top shelf instead.

Hemnes Double MirrorCherylThe mirror itself was easy to put together. The mounting holes on the back of the unit are 28 inches apart. Our wall studs have 16 inch centres, so mounting this cupboard resulted in one bolt being secured only to the gyproc. We had to purchase a gyproc insert and bolt to properly secure the mirror to the wall.

doors not constructed great - no support at bottomAshleythe doors came as preassembled - 4 pieces around a mirror. but 6 months after installing the dowels in the doors started to pull apart and the whole door started to sink. now when we open it, the pieces really pull apart and the mirror could come out. I've had to remove one door to try to fix it, but right after the other door started to pull apart as well. not sure if I got a defective set. I'm going to try to glue the doors together again....but I would recommend a smaller cabinet or one with some that that the door rests on so there's support for the doors....it looks beautiful, but it's a pain to have to take it apart and try to fix...
Tons of storage space and it looks so niceLauraI bought two of these for a home renovation and if If I had three bathrooms I probably would have bought another. I love how the doors can open sooo wide, just make sure you buy the right hinges. It was pretty easy putting them together too.

Can’t see yourself in the mirror 2Anonymous reviewerAs mentioned in review with same title, wish I paid a little more attention. The bottom shelf seems like a good idea, but it raises up the mirrors so high as to be impractical. If you want to take a shave, you want cabinet high enough for clearance for your head, since it is not designed to be recessed, it must be installed higher. After some thought I decided to lower the mirrored doors to the bottom, much better! Shelf at top for display purpose. Also, hinges are not great, especially compared to kitchen hinges.
Can’t see yourself in the mirrorJoleneI purchased the single door version of this and love the storage and style. But we found that when we installed it to allow for clearance of the faucet lever, we could barely see ourselves in the mirror! And I am not even short! My contractor had to cut off the bottom open shelving and reinstall the cabinet base. IKEA please redesign this item to address this issue. Even in your online photo, one can clearly see that it is way above most peoples’ line of sight.
