Care

Badly madeKimWhile the pricing is excellent, the quality is very poor. cheap wood for sure but the holes never lined up. Lots of re-shifting was needed to make it work. It also came with one bolt short. Would not recommend.
This bed is incomplete! Supports missing!AlexisThe bed comes WITHOUT supports (the middle part on which you put the mattress). The bed and it's boxes clearly states to take two boxes to have the complete item, but none of the boxes include the supports. So like everyone else, we built the whole bed, only to realize at the very last step that it is unusable. It is not written anywhere that the support don't come with the bed, and that you have to buy them extra. No employees to tell us. I am very angry about this incomplete item that Ikea sells and I should've read the reviews stating the same thing...
Imagine buying a chair and the backrest isn't included.

Incomplete bedTaraI am extremely disappointed to learn, after building this bed, that the supports were not included. How can ikea sell an incomplete bed? For just about the same price, we bought the Kura bunk bed for our son which came with all pieces and can be flipped into a bunk bed.
If you are going to sell an incomplete bed, why not have staff sell the extra piece when purchasing? Or have some warning beyond the smaller fine print?
This is horrible customer service and management. We now have a crying girl who won't have a new bed on Christmas day.

Used to be good, NOT Anymore!!SadiaWe got the TWIN HEMNES bed in black a week ago for my younger son and after assembling it we were left dumbfounded. The slats wouldn't stay put on the bar and when my son would sleep the whole bed is creaking and slats would move making it impossible to sleep. We actually had this bed 10 yrs ago for my older son and seems like back then the Quality and product was great! we had no issue with it in the past but now it seems like the quality of HEMNES is flawed. The biggest issue was in the past HEMNES bed had 2 bars criss crossing to support the slats but now they only provide one which seems like a design fault or what??? NOT SURE!! So the customer service had advised me to buy the 2nd bar and try. TBH i'm not sure what has changed because we had such a wonderful experience with this product in the past and were hoping for the same 2nd time too but unfortunately we were disappointed this time.

Broken right out of boxLeeannSpent long weekend going back and forth to Ikea. Bought this bed at matching dresser had to return both.. missing parts in one box, Brocken parts..holes not lined up properly. Would definitely NOT recommend purchasing anything Ikea at. Ikea Burlington.
Not good quality MelanieThe bed is very cute for my toddler but the quality for assembly is really lacking. This is the worst experience by far building something from IKEA. We had to leave out some of the pegs for the bed to align properly and then one of the pegs poked through the top of the head board - literally leaving a huge chunk I’ll have to use wood filler and paint to fix. I wouldn’t recommend this bed unfortunately.
Design changed and quality lackingLarissaTwo of the four corner braces shown in the instructions were missing. Online chat with IKEA who said store would provide part if I brought receipt. I called the store. They said online advice was wrong and I would have to bring everything back into the store and exchange the unboxed parts for a new package. I decided to try to just make do with two corner braces. Step one, I had to screw for post type connectors into a leg. The two bottom tw were not straight to the point that it was impossible to assemble. I returned entire assembly. Found out design was changing from corner braces that would prevent racking to a cheaper design that only prevents sides bowing, but not racking. I found I had been given old instructions and only half the parts needed for the new assembly. Got what I needed, tried assembling new unit. Same location, post connectors were not straight. Bent them with vice grips to make straight. Many steps had to hammer together with a mallet…parts don’t line up. Garbage.

No supportsStephenGreat frame but there are no supports. I didn't realize that when I purchased, so be prepared to buy those extra. We were really disappointed when building this and realized they weren't there. Now I have to go find them somewhere else.

Very nice bed frame.Anonymous reviewerThe Hemmes bed frame if it’s nicely in any decor with its simple lines. Yet it has a whimsical feel in the design as well. Construction is about average in that some parts were more difficult than others to assemble. Overall it is very chic.
