Solid and easy to put togetherMattThis dresser is solid and easy to assemble. No mess like others mentioned—just lots of cardboard to recycle, which is normal. It was well-packed and arrived in four boxes since I also ordered the glass top. When you open box #1, you get the instructions and all hardware, but you’ll quickly realize you need to open all three main boxes at once because some parts for the first steps are in box #3. Yes, the two metal rails you’re looking for are in the bottom of the last box, and the “U” channel faces up—you’re welcome! Once those are found, the rest is straightforward. Use the adjustable feet and level the dresser immediately and moving forward everything will sit flush. The glass top uses four L-brackets with rubber keeps to prevent sliding, and I recommend it to protect the surface. The dresser is laminated chipboard and has a slight wood smell. Unknown for how long as I have only had it for 3 days. Only drawback is the cheap drawer slides. Ball bearings would have made it perfect.4
Poor quality, bring back HemnesKailynSo disappointed that this is particle board and not actual wood... The Hemnes collection was so much better. This is flimsy and won't last.2
Nothing lines upAnneThe prefab holes aren’t drilled correctly. One corner of the dresser is not aligned causing a drawer to get stuck and one side of the top to pop up.2

Quality issues and poor instructionsClarkThere are a number of new methods of assembly used for this product - some confusing aspects which are not clearly shown in the instructions. There is also what appears to be incorrectly drilled locations for the back panel retainers on the side supports near the top. Compared to the Hemnes version, this leaves much to be desired. Below the front top panel edge on the front face are two long pieces of trim that need to be screwed into the top panel - it was hard to locate the holes (Should have had two dowels for alignment), and screwing in the screws with the supplied allen key was difficult. The screws should have been 1-2 mm longer so allow them to bite into the top panel easier.2
No wood here unfortunatelyLizI was disappointed to learn the Hemnes series of solid wood dressers has been replaced by this Gulaberg line. Upon looking at the materials list, it shows "Particleboard and fiberboard with plastic honeycomb filling" for the top and fibreboard and tin foil for the drawer sides. No thanks IKEA. We used to count on you for quality at a fair price. Now it's just cheap stuff like everything else.1

Love this dresser Anonymous reviewerIf you’re looking for a dresser that has deep drawers and has eight total drawers, this is the one! It’s very heavy, well made and has no smell. Took me approx two hours with some hubby help to get it done. The color is beautiful and so pleased with the outcome. I love the fact that ikea makes stuff that is nice and affordable. Comes in 3 boxes!! I recommend this product. My mom wants one now!!5
