I checked out a few other seagrass items in-store that did smell, but these I had to hold them up to my nose to even detect the seagrass scent. The second concern was with those items shedding a lot of material even during assembly, but these don't seem to shed at all. So, no issues with these for me - at least the 2 baskets I bought. I'm using them in a closet to store clothes.5

Not the same.ChristianeI bought one about 6 months ago and liked it, so I bought 5 more for my Kallax shelf. What a disappointment, all of them have different measurements, so they look very uneven, and they have a strong smell. Not as bad as the Knipsa, that one smelled horrible, but still strong enough that it is very uncomfortable. The first one did not have that smell. They have to go back, unfortunately.1
