Can it be used without the remote control? CarolineCan this cabinet be used with only the wall switch? I don’t want an added remote, I don’t want any “smart” or wifi, I want to turn on the wall switch and it turns on at 100%. I know it has to be hard wired in my electric box in the wall.

Beautiful but hard to assemble/installDianaI love this cabinet. Was exactly what I was looking for but it was not easy to put together and install on the wall. Needed someone who was handy to help out. Additionally, I purchased the Bilresa remote dimmer but as soon as I put batteries in and paired it, it caused the mirror to emit a constant buzzing sound. As if it was trying to find the remote the whole time. Also the remote doesn't dim the light, just turns it on and off. I am disappointed and regret pairing to the dimmer now. I wish I could go back and not have the constant buzzing.
Poor lightingAmberWe purchased this along with the vanity and side cupboard for our bathroom reno the lighting itself is horrible it's not bright at all! We ended up having to also upgrade our fan to a light ensemble as well. Very deceiving in the store!!

Instructions somewhat trickyLucLooks great for sure. Instructions were tricky but fairly straightforward for the most part. I had to study them and look at the diagrams many times. Ended up putting the lower light wrong as it shines under the cabinet (which is probably better as it illuminates the counter top!). There are two electric wires coming out from the light strips - the instructions indicate to put only one of the wires into the driver?! So do I just put one wire in? And which one of the two? And so I leave the other wire out just dangling? That doesn't seem right! This is the sort of incomplete instructions to which I'm referring. Plus for the dimmer option, after reading the reviews, I gather I now have to purchase a remote control? I had assumed the ''driver'' was to use with a smart phone (!). Not cool! Not impressed! Disappointed. I have yet to install the cabinet onto my wall. I was hoping to get an answer regarding the two electric wires. I'm surprised no one has this issue.

ImpressedBrettThis cabinet is well designed and easy to put together. For the price is great value compared to hardware store products. The light works well, and is a nice touch. I would recommend if possible to have it on its own power supply where possible, as I have it wired with room lights on a dimmer and the led controller has issues with it, even with the ikea remote.
Overall very happy with the value and the construction of cabinet.

Hidden informationAlexiaFirst the driver was missing, so I had to purchaese it separately only to realize this is not a plug in installation. You should have the fact that this is a wired in installation front and center. So now I just spent money for something I cannot use and there is no alternative.

Suggestions: make the inside a bit deeper. Some of my items were too thick for the doors to close properly.
The inside back panel could be a little sturdier.
I would add thin inconspicuous pull tabs to the bottom of each door. This would reduce finger prints on the mirrors.

Disappointed - Major functional flawsEricaI purchased this product based on the positive reviews and its elegant appearance. While the finish is indeed beautiful, I’m so surprised NONE of the reviews mentioned the major issues this product comes with.
The biggest issue is the wireless driver that’s required. Once installed, the moment you turn on the light, it emits a constant BUZZING sound, similar to standing under a high-voltage power line. Turning the switch off stops the sound, but obviously that defeats the purpose.
This light is NOT compatible with standard dimmer switches. To adjust brightness, you must purchase and pair it with IKEA’s own remote control. This makes it much less intuitive, especially for anyone who doesn’t want to deal with remotes or changing batteries.
I had really high hopes for this cabinet because of the review and price, but it’s turned into a frustrating experience. This product is more of a burden than a bathroom upgrade. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.
Love this mirror!JoyceAfter installing this mirror in a previously dark ensuite, it truly was illuminating. The mirror has led lights around and inside.
