Keep this bin on the kitchen countertop while cooking and cleaning up to collect organic waste and food scraps. You do not need a bag since the bin is easy to wash by hand after emptying it.

Product details

Perfect to keep next to you on the kitchen worktop with the lid fixed over the edge when you’re cooking or cleaning up. And when you're done, just put the lid on to avoid unpleasant odours.

You do not need a bag on the inside since the bin is easy to wipe clean or wash by hand.

The folding handle makes it easy to carry and empty the bin.

At least 50% of the plastic in the bin and lid is recycled.

The lid fits snuggly enough to keep insects etc out, and is tall enough to keep a small spatula inside to make emptying it quick and convenient. Nice design, but not very functionalClarianaThe trash can looks great and fits nicely with my decor. However, it’s not very practical. The lid only closes properly when it’s exactly aligned with the handle, which is inconvenient for everyday use. The trash bag also doesn’t fit well because of the handle’s shape — it slips easily. I had to use an elastic band to keep the bag in place.2

Just perfect!MaryBefore I bought this I was using an empty ice cream container. It was gross and super awkward. The tub from IKEA is light-years better. A lid with a handle means I don't have to wash my hands everytime I put some vegetable waste in it! The container itself has a handle to carry it out to my compost green bin or the heap in the back yard. So easy to clean out - compared to my ice cream pail. Better plastic I guess. I'm happy IKEA came out with this. 5

Designer thoughts

"Food waste accounts for a large part of our household waste. That’s why I decided to create FARMARKVAST bin to make it easier to sort organic waste. Since I wanted it to go with other things you have in the kitchen, I was inspired by various types of pots and pans with lids. It was important for the design to feel appealing so that you can keep it on the kitchen countertop and within easy reach while cooking or cleaning up in the kitchen."
