I use this to get perfect roastsKevinI no longer need to cook by time and guess when my turkey or roast is done. I have much better success with this thermometer. Just don't use it when you are broiling since the temps are too high and will damage the sensor. Roasting at 350 is perfect.

meat thermometer unreliableAnonymousI bought this cooking thermometer after talking to an Ikea salesperson who personally recommended it. Sadly, she was wrong...........I used it for roasting a chicken in my oven. I inserted it all the way as required into the main part of the chicken flesh; however, after 25 minutes in the oven it indicated the cooked temperature was reached only halfway through when it was just half-cooked. If I had believed it and eaten the chicken then, I may have gotten sick or poisoned. Obviously this thermometer is not accurate and not to be trusted! I will be returning it to Ikea for a refund.

Excellent productSandyI've used this thermometer when cooking all types of meat in the oven. It beeps loud when the set tempurature has been reached, so there's no more over cooking!
