    Beautiful lampJamesThe aesthetics are wonderful with nice oak and an interesting light pattern. I used the 1600 lumen ikea bulb for this, just be aware it throws light upwards and downwards well, but not to the sides, so don’t expect it to brightly light a room on its own.5

    Lovely design, light from lamp is very directional (downward)AndrewMy wife and I absolutely love the design of the DYKARKLOCKA shade. That said, as we discovered, it's best suited for installation over a table or other work surface where downward directional light is required. Our needs were for a lamp to evenly illuminate a small bedroom. We found it didn't work well for that use case. It's not a fault with the shade; it just didn't meet our needs. The HAVSDJUP cord set is well-engineered, flexible, and pretty easy to install. Unfortunately, our HAVSDJUP included duplicate pieces for the two-part retaining ferrule instead of the required mating pieces, which are different. So it's back to IKEA we must go to obtain the proper part. If I bought HAVSDJUP again, I'd open the package at the store to be sure all the correct parts were included.4
