Fantastic!NAOMIA bit tricky to assemble but has turned out to be a great desk!5
So far so goodJohnWorks well, really enjoying the sit and stand functionality. Only weird thing is I have a couple power strips and one of them won't work to plug the table into. Another strip daisy chained from the first will work to plug the table into. Really weird but whatever. Wish it had memory functions for the raising and lowering but even still it's good.4
Motor broke in under 2 monthsMatt CanzThe motor stopped working after just two months. I tried calling Ikea to ask about a warranty and have been on hold for literally an hour as of this writing. This is not an easy piece of furniture to disassemble and bring back to the store, so I have no idea how Ikea is going to make this right.1
Wobbling a lot !TricksVI just assemble this Bekant table, It is wobbling a lot at any height. I double checked everything to make sure all screws were tight and that everything flat so that is not the issue. I guess the Idasen would have been more stable, but Ikea offers very limited finish on this which makes this option uninteresting. Writing this review, I'm noticing all the bad reviews due to motor issues, so far everything is fine on that side the product being new, so will keep a close eye on this. The look with white stained oak is really great, I was however expecting the table be more stable, specially at lower height.3
Adjustable desk work greaBought two weeks from now, would regret why I didn’t get this earlier!5
k2soIt's perfect as a standup desk for working from home these days. Also double as our breakfast table. Loving it.5
Great product!! More than horrible delivery experichant75My colleague and I both ordered sit stand desks, different sizes with different delivery addresses and contact numbers. The only thing that was the same was the billing address and payment info. Well my colleague kept getting calls in regards to my orders, they attempted to deliver to our work address as well as providing 3 different delivery dates. I understand delays due to covid but confusing our orders continuously was not very professional. Thankfully, it was worth the wait and works great so far. It's been in use less than 1 week.1
Large, functional, comfortableVerevI purchased this sit-stand desk for my new work-from-home office and am THRILLED. I purchased the larger size and there is SO much real estate, enough for two laptops, 3 monitors, a lamp, and a cat bed, with workspace leftover. The electric height adjustment is smooth, the whole desk is heavy and sturdy. Hubby had it together in less than an hour. Highly recommend, this item saved my back and sanity!5
Works greatMDP2020Works as intended. Well made and simple to assemble.5
Motor dies quicklyVancouverReviewerI'd recommend deciding your ideal height right away because the motor will stop working at some point and it will be forever stuck.1
Unreliable electronicsSolarmaxzI bought this a couple of years back and was great but then it started to work intermittently. The motor works fine going down but pressing the switch to go up only operates up one cm and then stops and it is hard to get it to repeat. It has become unuseable.1
Bought nine of these for our office four years agocompany2012We bought nine of these for our office about four years ago. Just about to buy a 10th as we have a new hire. In general, they have been great - easy to assemble, feels sturdy even when at their highest. Pretty cheap for sit/stand functionality considering you can pay more for a unit that just sits on top of an existing desk and doesn't lift the whole thing... Water (or heat from hot coffee cup etc) can damage the surface so use a coaster! We have had the known issue that others have written about where it stops rising (or, rather, rises only a few cm at a time). We wrote into Ikea and they sent new power supply bricks - just the thing that goes between the plug into the wall and the cable that goes to the motor. That solved it in both of the units that had broken and in the years that we've had all of them, that was the only problem. Easily solvable. Not a motor/hydraulic/switch issue at all.4
Battery or motor failure.Shawn1989I bought this on 2017 and it was running perfectly at that time. However, recently the motor shows the rising failure. I checked the Ikea website, it says this one has 10 years warranty. Then, I take the power supply to Ikea to exchange a new set. At that time, they were pretty nice and give me a new set of power supply. But it doesn't work after I installed it. Then, I go again. They give me a new set again and tell me this new one has been tested and it should work fine. I just installed it. It doesn't work. Then, I try to call Ikea costumer service to complain about this issue and the agent says the 2017 one doesn't have 10 years warranty. Only the 2014 and 2015 have. I checked the Ikea website, it doesn't specify anything about desk warranty. It only says all desk has 10 year warranty. So I called again, another agent answer the phone and says only the current desk sold in 2019 has this policy. She has no idea whether the 2017 one has warrenty or not. As a loyal Ikea customer, I bought almost every furniture from Ikea not only at my home, but at my restaurant as well. This is first time Ikea lets me down. Maybe it is because I didn't really return stuff? I just want to fix the problem, but it seems more headache is coming...1
Good, one failed PSU, Needs preset height buttonsDerekHThe table itself is awesome. I did have one power supply unit fail on me, IKEA shipped me out a free replacement which is going strong. I do have one request for all IKEA motorized desks; preset level buttons. So you're able to customize say 2 different height (one for sitting one for standing). You set it to what you want, hold the preset button to store it. then just hit the button you want and have it go till it hits that height. Issue right now, is it takes too long and you never quite get the right height twice. I'd rather press the stand height button and go grab a drink a water, and come back to it at the right height. Please implement. ALSO, sell this unit seperate so us with previous desks and upgrade the control until easily so our old desks can have memory too. PLEASE PLEASE3
Terrible Purchase | Hydraulics Motor FailurearpanjollySurprised to see I'm not the only one who's saying this but this has been a waste of $500 for me. The hydraulics motor stopped working after a few months of very gentle use. It's just me who has used this desk so there was no room for misuse or accident. The hydraulics design is majorly faulty and the desk won't rise up. After speaking to a customer service agent at Ikea they sent me a replacement adapter - however that has been of no use either. The desk still won't rise up. Stay away from this desk. I purchased it keeping Ikea's design and reputation in mind but I made a huge mistake.1
Standing Desk with Style and ComfortHHTYHZThis desk has been a great addition to our home office. It looks good, works great and is comfortable and functional.5
So far so goodFandyI was looking for a sit/Stand desk as I work on my computer for 87 plus hours per day and had seen some bad reviews on this desk but purchased it anyway as the warranty seemed to cover issues others had and so far so good I move it probably 4 to 6 times a day and just love the size.5
TerribleJhanSame as other reviewers, bought this desk a while ago and the motor went after a few months. The desk no longer goes up or down and just takes up space. I guess I'm sort of stuck with it now until I can make a dump trip.1

Ideas that work for the office

Today, there are as many ways of working as there are job titles. Some of us share a desk with colleagues, and some use the local coffee shop or the kitchen table at home as headquarters. No matter where or how you work, or what time of day (or night) you do it, it helps to have a flexible workspace. With furniture that adapts to your needs and not the other way around.

To work standing up

Good ideas thrive where the unusual is business as usual. So surprise your body with movement now and then – even if you’re super-concentrated on something for a long time. When you shift position, your blood circulation increases. It makes it easier to relax your back, neck and shoulders. With a height-adjustable desk, it’s easy to vary your work position. It can do wonders for your creativity and focus, and even be a good substitute for that extra cup of coffee.

Make 1+1 become 3

Sometimes we need to work on our own – sometimes we want to work together. Or just socialize. When we collaborate, we can share ideas, become inspired and create an environment where both businesses and people can flourish. To meet our changing needs, we need furniture that are as adaptable as we are. That makes it possible to create the workday we need and want.

Storage that takes you places

Storage with casters is easy to get out of the way when you want to turn the workplace into something else. Perhaps shift focus from one task to another, make room for cleaning or less serious stuff? Office supplies fit perfectly in storage with casters. It makes them easy to bring to the desk, the sofa – or wherever it is you prefer to work.

Two for one

Even if you have all your meetings online or out of the office, it can be a good idea to have an extra seat for colleagues or family members that want to stop by. When you’re on your own, you can use it for relaxation after a session by the screen – perhaps by doing a different type of work-task for a while. If you have little space, there are storage units approved to be used as seating as well.

Storage for people on the go

Storage units developed for standing work are handy if you don’t have a need or the space for a big desk. They can be used as presentation-desks, and if you add casters to them, you can easily move them around and rearrange the room in seconds.

Shared storage and shared spaces

Lack of storage seems to be a universal issue – no matter how disciplined you are or what you do for a living. Large storage units are convenient when you’re sharing storage with someone else. They can also be used as room dividers to create individual workspaces without walls or doors.

Hide or show what you’re storing

If you go for closed storage, it will always look nice and tidy no matter what is hidden inside the cabinets. With glass doors, you get an overview of what’s in the cabinets and can protect your stuff from dust. They also give an opportunity to show visitors things you are extra proud of.

To work sitting down

When you feel like working sitting down, choose a chair that adapts to you, not the other way around. Make sure it gives back support, is adjustable and can swivel – allowing for that all-important movement. You want to be able to sit upright and have your monitor at eye height, and your arms and elbows at a 90-degree angle with your hands just above your keyboard. If you need extra support for your lower back, choose a chair that has lumbar support.

A chair without armrests provides freedom for natural movement, but a chair with armrests will support the upper part of your forearms, thereby reducing stress on shoulders and back. Make sure the armrests don’t prevent you from drawing the chair close to the desk.

Chairs with casters

If you want a chair that can roll around and is easy to move, make sure it has safety casters. The safety casters make the chair stay in place when you get up from it.

Active seating

Do yourself a favor, change position now and then instead of sitting or standing all day. A sit/stand support doesn’t have any back-support or armrests. It allows for a flexible work position at both desks and high tables. You get a more open posture – good for your circulation and core muscles, and awesome for both body and mind.

Managing the essentials

Cables. We need them, but we don’t want to see them. They’re easy to trip on, and it can be hard to know which one goes where. A cable management solution helps you to organize and hide the cables. It also makes your workstation look less cluttered and cleaning a whole lot easier. There are a several different cable management systems to choose from, see which one that suits you best.

Digital help that works in real life

There are a number of technological aids that can make your working life easier. With NFC (Near Field Communication) you can lock away your things with a card key instead of a regular key. There are also apps that you can use to control some desks. The apps can remind you to move around now and then, so you get a healthier workday. Or automatically set your favorite height if you share a height-adjustable desk with someone else.

Reduce noise pollution

Your ears should feel just as comfortable at work as your back, neck and shoulders. What someone thinks is calming background sound, can be noise to someone else. With soft-closing doors and drawers you can reduce noise pollution. You can also use fabrics, cushions and rugs to dampen sounds, soften echoes and give the office a homier feeling.

Feel at home at work

Apart from having flexible furniture, there are other things you can do to make magic happen at work. Decorate with plants that improve the air quality. Let daylight in – without causing glare. Make sure there’s access to hot drinks and cold water. But above all, challenge truths, try new things and ask for help if you need it. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable at work.
